I chose this country because i want to serve africans not only because of the compensation but for the experience of practicing my skills in other country that is not discriminating to other nationalities.I also heard shortage of nurses in Africa and that also convinced me to choose Africa as my new place to serve with. What countries have you worked in? In the Philippines,my country.. What countries do you have a visa to work in? None at the moment. What field do you currently work in? I am currently working as a volunteer dialysis nurse in B.Braun Dialysis Center in the Philippines. What fields have you worked in before? I worked as a private caregiver nurse to a cancer patient here in the Philippines from 2008-2009. I also worked as a staff in the business center of The Manila Hotel long before I became a nurse. What qualifications do you hold? I passed the national licensure examination for nurses in november of 2008, and I am holding a certificate for accomplishing a training for dialysis nurse.I am also a certified renal nurse in the Philippines. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? For me, both are valuable in the sense that formal education is also important before it is being applied through skills.Before conducting a series of skills, understanding of the concept is very important. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others could benefit in the sense that we can learn other values.Sometimes, they can share knowledge that could help in boosting our own.Working with others can make the job easily specially when the task is delegated appropriately.They can help each other when problem arises because working with others could mean working as one. Describe the benefits of working alone The benefit of working alone is, you decide on your own to the best of your knowledge, putting your own ideas and concept in your work without the hassle of considering many thoughts and ideas that could sometimes compromise the wholeness of the concept. working alone can make you strong and wiser in making decisions because you are accountable in every actions that you will do. What was your worst working experience? For me, dying of a patient is the worst that I have experienced in my work.But,the hardest part is to console the love ones of the patient.It tears my heart apart.. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson I have learned in my career is to treat your patient as one of your family so that you can give your full devotion and care to every patient. What unique skills do you have? As a dialysis nurse, I also do some troubleshooting on the machine when clogging occurs or some minor problem during the hemodialysis treatment. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I would consider being a nurse as my dream job because Im not only fulfilling my dream but I am also helping other people who are sick.As a nurse, it is very fulfilling when we see our patient smiling and thanking us because somehow we became an instrument for alleviating the pain they are feeling and helping them to prolong their life.
