Health, Urban and Regional Planning, Information and Documentation, Record Keeping, System Design and Analysis, Research and Land Management What qualifications do you hold? Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and evaluation Methods (Stellenbosch University, South Africa),Masters of Arts in Information Studies (University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania) and Bachelor of Science in Urban and Regional Planning (University of Dar es Salaam) Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both have a role in an organization.Formal education helps in providing the basis or fundamental knowledge for workers and skills are self initiative of the worker.For a worker to succed he/she should posses more skills in a field.Skills also are built up by years of experience Describe the benefits of working with others This helps a lot in building a team work environment. Each worker in an organization has his/her vital role to play. When staffs join efforts the organization benefits and makes it easy to attain its targeted goals. As a manager I have acquire more skills and attain so much information when working as a team. Other benefit includes knowing each other strength and weakness. Each staff has an area of expertise and also has a weakness as a human being. Team work will minimize the effects which are to be initiated by human weakness and strengthening each workers strengths Describe the benefits of working alone Though is not advised that workers should work alone but in some point workers can be more creative when working alone .When a worker realize that there is no help around he/she may create an environment which will help in producing the targeted goals What was your worst working experience? have encountered one worst working environment. This was in an organization which was newly established. The working tools like internet, Computer, printer and furniture were not already purchased when i was hired. I had to start working in such an environment. Fortunately, as a manager i worked so hard to ensure that the working environment improved. I learned to be patience strive against success is not a one day activity. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? As a manager I have learnt that the subordinates work to their maximum ability when are shown respect and trust from their managers. Each staff has an ability to perform at his/her best provided that the environment created by the management is supportive. When subordinates are not fairly treated they may be a cause to much distortion in the organization. These are people who keep confidential records and know organization’s financial records. If they are not mismanaged they can be a threat to the organization success What unique skills do you have? have a great listening and communication skills and my decision making mechanism is based on facts and logic. I have learnt through experience that a good manager is the one who knows how to communicate best with subordinates and community as a whole. Also throughout my career I have been making decision based on facts or information available. This has been also backed up by logical thinking of doing things as I learnt that handling human resource requires more than written principles.Am also good at analysing statistical data using computer softwares like Atlas ti,SPSS,EXCEL and EPI Info to mention few. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is the one which allows team work and challenge me to make decisions as a manager which in turn elevates organization’s image to the community and help in eradicating poverty and diseases in sub Saharan region What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects are those involving collecting stakeholders’ views and incorporate them when designing a programme so as to suit their need. Other people termed this process as “participatory way” of doing things .In designing a social programme community's needs and expectation should well be observed because these are the primary beneficiaries of programmes. It is a bottom up approach rather than a top down approach whereby in the later one sits down and thinks for the community. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Being a Monitoring and evaluation Manager of a programme requires willingness of community to participate in a programme.There are times when some people in these communities oppose developments for their individual benefits.This in other times slower the process.As a manager i have to negotiate with the community for the programme to be undertaken What is your weakness? I usually accept works from other staffs.This has placed me in a situation whereby i have a heavy load in most of the time How can potential employers contact you?
