English What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Antigua, recently vacationed on this beautiful island and fell in love with the country and the people. Very interested in the medical facility recently opened. A time in my life when I can expand my horizons and explore new opportunities and challenges. What countries have you worked in? Have worked across Canada in the provinces of British Columbia, Saskatchewan and Alberta. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Canada, but willing to apply for work visa if necessary. What field do you currently work in? I currently work on a surgical floor with approx. 10 speciality area. Deal with general surg., orthopedics, gyn, and urology. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked on general medicine floors, geriatrics with attention to dementia and Alzhemiers, Also had training in lab work and x-Rays What qualifications do you hold? I have a diploma in nursing. Also have orthopedic speciality with CARNA. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider skill training to be the most valuable and this is how I have based my career. Hands on training has allowed me to be my best in diagnosing and administering the best bed side nursing possible. Describe the benefits of working with others All knowledge is benefical especially in nursing as it is constantly changing our scope of practise and requires info from all disciplines and areas related to patient care. Describe the benefits of working alone I prefer to work along side others and to be in a give and take work situation that allows input and helps to trouble shoot problems. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To never stop expanding you learning curve and to also be open to suggestions and new ideas. What unique skills do you have? Excellent people skills and interpersonal working skills. Able to trouble shoot and work both independantly and with others. Skilled in all nursing duties, especially assessment and diagnosis. Several skill sets in all bed side nursing ex. IV therapy, catheters, nasogastric ect. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working in a up to date facility and being able to mentor and teach plus do hands on skills that involve patient care. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? People interaction from all walks of life and the ability to connect with all types to aid in diagnosing and curing a illness. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
