Interacting with both the client and vendor specialists to work on the designs for storage solutions for the Ministry of Defence. A high profile client and demanding role.
Architected with an involvement at all stages of the development lifecycle a variety of solutions for disk allocation on the CLARiiON, Symmetrix and AX100. The switch configuration was cisco MDS series.
Designed the architecture (Low Level Designs) working closely with EMC for EMC ControlCenter the SAN control and monitoring system for the MoD network. This involved writing and taking ownership for writing the Low Level Design.
Ensure the network environmental factors do not affect the installation for example Group Policy, HP Protect Tools, Sanctuary and the enterprise monitoring reported correctly to Netcool.
Evaluated the suitability of a file replication product WAFS (Brocade) versus Veritas Volume Replicator (VVR). This involved costs against practicality and to give a presentation to the Technical Leaders of the project.
