What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I would like to work in Antigua, just visited the island and fell in love with the place, would love to live there permanently. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in Trinidad and Tobago and currently work in St. Kitts and Nevis. What countries do you have a visa to work in? As a Caricom national i hold a CSME certificate and should be able to work in anyone of the Caricom states. What field do you currently work in? I am a Graphic Artist working in the newspaper industry also doing commercial design work for a printery. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in the newspaper industry for several years and previously worked in the advertising industry and before that I worked in Live Stage Sound doing for live stage shows, and small radio stations as an announcer radio show producer. I have also done Oxy-Acetalene welding, and Jewelry Craft. What qualifications do you hold? I have several years work experience at the Trinidad Express Newspaper Limited, most of those being in the Prepress Department training staff and trouble shooting problem ads, while improving the quality of the final product, and assisting with the installing of the new CtP machines with online processors. Prior to that I worked at advertising agencies,and a small commercial printery. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I believe that the formal eduction is a good start, but having years of experience doing the job makes you able to deal with problems that might occur during the process and you are better able to trouble shoot and solve it. Describe the benefits of working with others You can learn from their experience and you can help them to better understand your area of expertise. Describe the benefits of working alone It often times helps as you require the quiet time to focus more and concentrate on the task at hand. What was your worst working experience? Working for a sole trader who used the company cash for personal use and every month struggling to find funds to pay staff. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? To listen to the client? What unique skills do you have? The patience to work out a problem and see the results. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working in a permanent job in Antigua. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Learning about the equipment as they affect your productivity. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The down time between jobs.
