23 yr old American girl looking for a job

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for teaching, nannying, bartending or hospitality jobs.

What nationality are you?

American.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I can speak English and German. I am a native English speaker and my German is intermediate.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I would like to work in Argentina but any country in South America would be great. I have never been to South America and have always wanted to go because of the culture and history it has. So, I think now is the right time to go.

What countries have you worked in?

USA, Germany and Austria

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

USA and Germany

What field do you currently work in?

Education.

What fields have you worked in before?

Education and the restaurant industry.

What qualifications do you hold?

I´m fun, energetic and bubbly. I´m hardworking, and a teamplayer and I´m very determined at what I do.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills because I believe you learn a lot from watching and doing things first hand instead of learning it from school and books. I have only graduated from High School and I have learned my "skills" of teaching from watching and learning from other teachers that I have worked with and I love what I do and I believe that is the best way.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I love working with other people and seeing how they do their job and how they interact with others. If it is a small group of people, you share a bond with everyone because you are working so close to each other and you just feed off of other peoples energies which is great. You work together to build yourself and learn from others.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Though I do love working with others, I´m also love working alone. I like knowing that I can do something by myself and that I actually accomplished it on my own without anyones help at all. It makes you stronger and more independent as a person.

What was your worst working experience?

I was a Daycamp counselor for four days, teaching English to children from 6-9 years old and it was terrible... throwing woodchips in each others faces, bullying, hitting, kicking, yelling in class, crying.. it was a nightmare! I was working alone and the children would not behave whatsoever. I did call on my boss to help out but they still wouldn´t listen.. even the parents got involved and it was still a nightmare! I wanted to leave every hour of everyday but I stuck to it and thankfully, they did learn some English!

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

You just got to have fun with job. If don´t have fun or love your job, then why do it? Yes, sometimes we do have bad experiences, but they are rare but you got to look on the bright side and know what you doing is great and that you shouldnt always look toward the bad things but look at the good things. Having fun is the most important thing in your job.

What unique skills do you have?

I don´t have a problem of embarrassing myself. I work with children all the time and I act like a complete nutter most of the time and they love it. I´m a bubbly person, always laughing and making jokes. I like to listen to people and hear what they have to say and I just go with the flow with everything.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

A job that I love to do. I love to teach and watching kids learn English but I would also like to a massage therapist. I hate seeing people in pain and hurting so I would like to do that as well.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I get to travel throughout Germany during holiday breaks. I love traveling so this is a perfect job for me.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

There are a lot of people working at my job so sometimes you might not get a spot during a holiday break which can be bad because you need the money!

When can you start your position?

I know this is a bit early, but I would like to start working in October, 2010 because that is when I am finished in Germany and I will be living in the USA until September. Hope October is a good time!

How can potential employers contact you?

I have my mobile number: 00491788626833. and my email address: thatfunkgirl@yahoo.com
