I have a qualification in accounting (Association of Accounting Technician). I am highly skilled in customer service also with 8 years+ experience. What nationality are you? In my present position I am responsible for reviewing and preparing annual year end accounts using IRIS Accounts Production. I raise invoices and also chase payments. I also work closely with the Personal Support Department/Administration department and have been able to train and educate new members of staff with the knowledge needed to carry out their job. Also assisting with the quality of the customer service delivered to our clients. Formal education or skills and why? I consider relevant skills to be more valuable than formal education. When an individual has the skills to carry out a job, they will have learnt their chosen trade and be able to carry out their job. Formal education give you solid foundations to understand a role/job but skills you have the "informal" education to carry out a job to a higher standard. Having acquired the skills first, formal education can follow. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other give you the chance to learn what they already know. It also give you the opportunity to spread tasks amongst a team to get the best possible outcome. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone can give you the opportunity to excel at a given task. You have to use your own initiative and gives you the skills to be able to prioritise a given task. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience would have to be when challenged with the prospect of how to restructure a department at my current place of work. Whilst it may be my worst working experience it may also be one of my greatest experiences. It was challenging to come up with the specific plan and at the same time I feel I learnt a lot from this and can take with me as I progress in my career. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Throughout my career I have learnt that is great to share your knowledge. Knowledge is very powerful and if everyone is to share their knowledge, the business you are working for will feel the benefit. What unique skills do you have? Although I am relatively knew to the accounting industry (2 years experience) I feel with the support I will continue to become a great accountant. I have a great care for customer service and have the customer views at hand. This comes with my 5+ years experience dealing with customer via every media and also face to face. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A dream job for me would be working for an established company which can see my potential and invests in me. With this commitment comes great pride. I would strive to repay any company which gives me an oportunity to excel and I would repay them dividends. What am I looking for? I am looking for an entry level job within an accounts industry role, but I am open to other positions as I am a very flexible individual Every company has customers at the heart of their income.
