Formal eductaion with no experience is like driving a car for the first time after reading a book about it. Describe the benefits of working with others Complex Psychiatric problems are best managed through a multidisciplinary team. The support derived from a team approach is beneficial to both clients as well as staff. Describe the benefits of working alone You are challenged to be innovative and creative. What was your worst working experience? Having to look after 3 wards while on call and having a patient collapse in each ward simultaneously. Only one patient survived. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? That the suffering a person with a mental illness experiences is devastating and it has a signifiacnt effect on their families as well. What unique skills do you have? Humility Comradry Willing to learn What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Developing new services in mental health where there were none. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The variety of clients that I come across with and the uniqueness of their histories and consequences. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The stress that it imparts on you - having to understand complex and sad stories and maintain confidentiality. How do you manage your own stress?
