I am a Colombian Medical Doctor, graduated from Tashkent Medical Institute(Former Soviet Union - Uzbekistan. I also have postgraduate studies in Social managment, Family Health and University Teaching What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak fluently Spanish, English and Russian. I also speak, read and write Portuguesse and French on a medium level. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? The Bahamas or other Islands in the Caribean What countries have you worked in? Colombia (my home country). Angola (as a MD on a mission with doctors without borders- MSF USA and Holland chapters) What field do you currently work in? Medicine - Mostly emergency Medicine and mental Health. What qualifications do you hold? Medicicine - Medical Doctor, with postgraduate studies in Social managment, Family Health and University Teaching Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both. Describe the benefits of working with others It is an opportunitty to work and learn at the same time from the interaction with other people at work. Also it is the best way to put my work on a service for others. Describe the benefits of working alone It could be Ok in some works that do not require to be with other people, such as writers, handcrafters, and others. And also sometimes will help when you need to concentrate deeply on what you are working at the moment. What was your worst working experience? Working has been always a joy for me and I do not have bad memories, neither bad experiences while working. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The best thing is that by doing my job I can help other people and I can do something to make better the life for me and for others What unique skills do you have? I am a very responsible and caring Medical doctor, with a big ability to listen to people in need and find a solution to my patients suffering, and I also speak different languages and that is helpful if you work on an multinational country or a place with people from different countries, such as a Cruise line, a Hotel, a Ressort, or an island with a lot of foreing visitors. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working as a doctor on an island, involved with emergency medical care, mental health, and family health care, and may be also combining all these with teaching at a local University or Medical or Nursing School. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Emergency medical care and Mental health What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Everything about Medicine is amazing, and it is hard to find a non interesting field on it. Why would you live your country to live and work somewhere else. In my case it is a desire to be more in contact with people from different countries and speak different languages and learn about different cultures from people from all over the world.
