It is because of the love, dedication, and, guidance which I received from my Bahamain teachers, gives me the ability to stand here today as an educator to teach, and motivate others to learn.With my 10 years plus experience as a teacher, I strongly believe that every child can learn if given a chance. I have worked as administrator Assistant in the President's Office At Megar Evers College: A Fashion Designer and a Production Pattern Maker in the Garment Industry in New York City. An Assistant Nurse at the Visiting Nurses Service of New York. What qualifications do you hold? I am a Certified licensed General Education Teacher. I hold an Associate of Science in Business and Marketing: Medgar Evers College (City University of New York)1999. Bachalor of Science Degree in Business Administration, Medgar Evers College (City University of New York 2001). Master of Science in Elementary Education, Sociology, and Science: Brooklyn College, New York 2003. Advanced Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Administration, Long Island University,2009. license and certification in Building Supervision, license and certfication in Administration Leadership District level. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson that I have learnt throughout my career is to always have respect for your fellowmen, and to treat others the way you would like to be treated. When this happens, it creats more productivity within the workplace and thus leads to success of any institution. What unique skills do you have? I am a multi-talent individual. I can sew professionally and can teach others to do so. I am a professional Pattern Maker. I have a gift of motivating other to reach their highest potential. I have encouraged many parents of my students to return to school, and some of them are now teachers, nurses and even accountants. I also have a gift of working with children that no other teacher wants to have in their class, and have giveup on them. I have a lot of patience, so I often take these children under my wings; and nuture them. These students would end up scoring the highest on the New York State Exams. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is being able to get a teaching or Adminstrative job in the Bahamas. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects of my field is knowing that I have the ability to transform the lives of my students by teaching them skills that is necessary to survive in todays world. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? There are not any least interesting aspects in my field. There is excitiment everyday in the field of education.
