I will be in Nassau this week in search of a teaching position

What type of job are you looking for?

preferably a school administrator because of my educational background and experience.

What nationality are you?

I am a third generation teacher of African American descent

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Bahamas, Africa or anywhere I will not be discriminated against or treated differently because of the color of my skin, gender, age, or religion.

What countries have you worked in?

United States of America

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

United States of America

What field do you currently work in?

Unemployed. I am a principal intern doctoral student in educational leadership at a High School in Oklahoma

What fields have you worked in before?

Civil Service (Government Secretary) Retail Department Stores, Restaurants, Novelty Stores, Security Work, Teaching children, Playground Instructor, Newspaper company, temporary clerical, temporary industrial, fulltime factory.

What qualifications do you hold?

I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Central State University in Ohio in Elementary Education; a Master's Degree from Northeastern State in Educational Administration in Oklahoma, and will get me PhD in Educational Leadership from Capella University in Minnesota.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both. However, you must use education as the anchor to keep the ship from drifting and the foundation to build upon. Education offers a starting point when an employee is hired into an organization. You may come by skills free of charge, but an education is very expensive and many times people need jobs after they gain their degrees in order to pay back loans. Individuals may also gain skills through education.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The benefits of collaboration is limitless. It offers the opportunity to share what you know and for you to learn from others, whereby, making the organization stronger and healthier.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone offers you the benefits of self reflection, working at your own pace, and no interruptions.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst working experience was working standing 12 hours in a cold chicken factory next immigrant Mexican workers in a small town in Oklahoma handling and packing cold chicken parts.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

I learned that if your best is not good enough then it's time to move on.

What unique skills do you have?

play violin, read music and sing

horticulture, landscaping, gardening, seamstress

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Screen actress because of the pay

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I am a third generation teacher in the United States

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Public education has changed very little during the span of over two centuries except in technological advances-- in human ethical values there has been regression in the U.S.
