Formal education or skills and why? Both are vital, but the best is the combinations of the two. One should have formal educations about any issue, but applied knowledge in that will enable the person to replicate the program. Here one each not only complementary to other, it is synergistic, they both create something like 2+2=5 0r 6 or 7! Describe the benefits of working with others i) Development of team and team spirits ii) Everybody feels ownership of the program so takes responsibilities, and thus the program activities become sustainable iii) Cross learning from each others iv) Cross monitoring, evaluation and impact assessments interactions keeps the program in the right tracks. v) Respect to each other in person and respecting others work makes a team proactive and optimally capable. v) Proper person can be placed in the proper position easily. vi) Team formation can emerge out alternative leadership, which is extremely useful in needs. vii)Planning, designing and implementation can be participatory, so everybody's responsibilities, duplication of meager man power or logistics could be avoided and utilized in the optimal ways. ix) Chances of mistake in works decline significantly. Describe the benefits of working alone This is the least desirable methodology to work alone, still if the situation compels to do that, the only benefit is nobody can interfere in one's work and the worker can do the work much uninterrupted and quicker ways. What was your worst working experience? Western expats are usually use to think them as more capable and in frequent occasions, they want to push the program activities (evolved in their countries where the socioeconomic and cultural norms are too different) to be replicated in LDC countries ignoring the target community's traditional indigenous knowledge, norms, practices as those are the components to be kept in mind while designing and implementing the program activities. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Community is the best organization to analyze, prioritize their needs and negotiate any program activities if that benefits them, and this community based participatory approach might reduced the cost of the program activities affordable to all. We can't bring the positive change, we can just facilitate that process, community has the enormous strength to accomplish any work. Thus the people and the community is the source of all power and if they are not included with due vanity and honor during planning, designing and implementation phases with incorporating community's traditional knowledge and suggestions, the program activities will never be sustainable. What unique skills do you have? I can understand the community interaction very well with my 25 years experiences, entered as a medical doctor, now became a development worker. My uniqueness is I am able to read community's inner languages and can bring out them to use in programs. My uniqueness is my writing and interacting skills, above all, my best capacity is the understanding and propose/compile/apply innovative methodology taking community with the project team, thus innovation is my main uniqueness! What would you consider as your 'dream job'? In Bangladesh or even in conflict region (I am a ex-MSF and REd Cross Employee!) I would like to perform creative or innovative services as the Executive Director/Chief Executive/Team Leader in Community Health, Nutrition, Development etc.or to work in similar positions depending on my vast knowledge and exposures in practical fields over 25 years and with my considerable academic fits among the disciplines of Public Health, Nutrition, Sustainable Livelihood and Food Security etc. Being very much proactive, dedicated and enthusiastic I would like to work to assist to bring positive changes among the target population’s lives through addressing challenges for meeting the organization goals within its Logical Frame Works as well as to prove my worthiness and capabilities those I gathered throughout my life with participatory and community based interventions. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? People, community, transformation, food security and above all, sustainable livelihood deterring hunger, starvation and famine! Avoiding personality conflict.Honor for all ranks with discipline. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Orthodox attitude of a team mate without flexibility even in the want of the situation, personal ego! Personality conflicts. Non-participatory decision making and fail to analyze the ground situation properly.Just with a finishing phrase: Team split, Team destroy.Program fails. Spouse (wife) and my capacities Lt. Col.
