Preferably in Bangladesh because I want to serve my country first as I have work experience in Bangladesh only till now.If it is not possible then may be in other countries if it seems suitable for me and other family members. What countries have you worked in? I have working experience in Bangladesh only. What countries do you have a visa to work in? Presently I don't have working other than Bangladesh visa for any countries.It may be arranged if I got job abroad. What field do you currently work in? Currently I am unemployed. What fields have you worked in before? Actually I am a graduate Mechanical Engineer ,was in government service for about 32 years and retired as Superintending Engineer in 2004.Then I worked as General Manager (Tube well)in a private firm for 22 months till joined a World bank financed Foundation under Ministry of Finance of the Government of Bangladesh as Field Supervision Consultant to look after its Pilot Rural Piped Water Supply.Simultaneously I was National Coordinator of Appraisal and Monitoring Teams for over 5 years.My contract expired on 30 Nov,2010.Now I am unemployed with vast experience of both mechanical and social engineering to alleviate poverty of the poor and hardcore poor of Bangladesh by especially empowering the women of the targeted households by Community Driven Development(CDD)approach.Though I am aged still in good physique and can undertake tour in rough & tough areas if needed for discharging the duties and responsibilities.In the government I worked for the poor farmer's group and for last 5 years I have worked for poorest of the poor helping them to set up sustainable institutions and taking up innovative Income Generating Activities(IGA)for restoring their shattered livelihood and enhance their quality of life. What qualifications do you hold? Graduation in Mechanical Engineering Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both is required.You may have the skill but it can not be sharpened/ developed/updated if you don't have necessary formal education. Describe the benefits of working with others It is a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge and experience of others by working in a team/ with others. Describe the benefits of working alone Sometimes consensus on definite issue can not be arrived within a given time line in a team of people having different mindset.In this situation it is better to work alone and take timely decision. What was your worst working experience? In my last working place my direct controlling officer who happens to be the guardian of rules measurably failed to ensure quality of the fund appraisal proposals which I could not agree ,as a result my contract was not extended instead of no objection from the World Bank.Managing Director does not like anybody equivalent to him in the Foundation. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Honesty, sincerity, diligence and commitment will be rewarded in the long last. What unique skills do you have? I have the commitment,perfection and perseverance. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to serve the poor and suffered humanity. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Responsibility, appreciation, honor with due remuneration and do a job successfully What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I never wanted to be failed in any assignment.Corruption, sharing of responsibility, defamation by superiors and in subordination by the juniors.
