What type of job are you looking for?

I am a Registered Nurse from Canada seeking a work visa and nursing job in Belgium

What nationality are you?

Canadian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English (fluent) French (very basic) willing to learn Flemish.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Ghent Belgium because my husband also has a job opportunity there and we are hoping to move to Ghent for a year or so

What countries have you worked in?

Canada

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None outside of Canada

What field do you currently work in?

Pediatric ICU

What fields have you worked in before?

Adult ICU, Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU

What qualifications do you hold?

BSc Nursing

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

both are benifical. a formal education, in my case, gave me the ability to conduct evidence based literature searches and distinguish good liturature from weak evidence allowing me to conduct evidence based practice. my experience has built on those skills and allowed me to further develop them in a real world setting.

collaboratio of ideas to provide the best care to patients

autonomy and idependence, sole accoutability to yourself and the patient

What was your worst working experience?

Being in a situation where i was short staffed and i felt unable to provide the best care to my patients

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

to ask for help when you need it and know your limits

What unique skills do you have?

i have great assessment skills form my years of caring for acutely ill patients, i have effective interdisciplinary communication skills, i work well without requiring supervision but i also work well with others.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

a day job where i have the opportunity to educate nurses or patients oin various subjects and have the opportunity to answer their questions and make them feel supported

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Teaching, healing

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

unsure
