My top five issues are stress management, depression, anxiety, transitions, and grief. I utilize cognitive therapy, solution foced therapy, and brief therapy. Bachelor's in Education, M.Ed. in Counseling and Guidance, Licensed Professional Counselor, and certification in Brain Wave Biofeedback Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education gave me the basics but I feel that experience and supervision were the most valuable Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others provide support and feedback on cases. Describe the benefits of working alone I can set my own hours. What was your worst working experience? I worked as a school counselor and found that my clinical skills were not utilized in that kind of setting. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The first session is most important. The way you present yourself as an accepting, non-judgemental, warm personality helps the client feel comfortable in continuing counseling. What unique skills do you have? I can perform Critical Incident Debriefing. With working with different agencies I have a vast amount of experience with different kind of issues. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working with an agency would be the first and private practice with a group would be second. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? I love guiding people through the counseling process and helping them reach their counseling goals. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
