Pharmacy Assistant, Pharmacist

What type of job are you looking for?

Pharmacy Assistant and a future Belize Pharmacist. I am a Pharmacist in USA with 30 yrs working experience. I want to continue educating and helping people with my personal life experiences. I have family experiences with Stroke, CAB, Cancer, Dementia, Blood Pressure, Prostate, Kidney and Liver failure, Heart Fib, Kidney Stone, Gall Bladder, Broken Hip, Assisted Living, Nursing home situations and Death/Dying Issues.

What nationality are you?

American - Southern USA

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Spanish - 2 yrs College Course and current lessons with Mexican friend.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Belize. English is the official language. The yearly temperature is a range that I enjoy. The beauty of the country, ocean, flowers, birds, history of the people, natural artifacts, relaxing lifestyle, friendly people, and permanent retirement.

What countries have you worked in?

USA. I have visited England, France, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Croatia, Italy, Mexico, Haiti, Puerto Rico, St. Lucia, Grenada, St. Thomas, Aruba, Virgin Islands, and Hawaii.

What field do you currently work in?

I am unemployed. Current Pharmacists in Tennessee,USA graduate with an advanced Pharmacy Degree that I do not have. I have been replaced with younger, faster Pharmacists. I am well educated and have enough experience in Pharmacy to still be a blessing to sick and hurting people. I know how to use old farm remedies and basic products along with modern medical-hospital procedures to save lives and help the people of Belize.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have sold clothes and fabric, exchange money for purchase, order items, and answer questions for customers. I have arranged shipping of products from a carpet producer to the customer across the USA. I was a Biochemical research assistant at the VA Hospital in Memphis, TN. Research included live animal studies, bovine collagen recovery which resulted in scar tissue reversal research. I also helped with Amino Acid sequencing for the production of Human Insulin. This was accomplished with human cadevor kidney procurement. Upon Pharmacy School Graduation, I have worked in Retail, Individual, and Hospital Pharmacies.

What qualifications do you hold?

BA in Biology and a BS in Pharmacy Degrees. I am registered in Tennessee USA with Tennessee Board of Pharmacy. My License is C-5597 It is active until February 31, 2013

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

They go hand in hand. Without skills, I would not be able study for my profession. Without a job, I would not have been able to begin to pay for my Pharmacy education. Now with my Formal Education and can use my skills to provide health information to help people and give them a better quality of life. Everything is valuable, it depends upon your needs and situation at that point of time.

Describe the benefits of working with others

I enjoy learning from all the people I meet. It excites me and I know there will always someone who knows more than I do, who can help me, if I ask, listen, and watch. By working with others, a job can be completed faster, and more accurately. We can share knowledge and information so no errors are made and we can double check each other.

Describe the benefits of working alone

I can control the temperature, lights, music, and when I take a break without bothering anyone. I do miss being able to ask for advise, and help when needed.

What was your worst working experience?

Being talked to as a non-person when I am working as fast as I can and to the best of my ability. Keeping safety and accuracy foremost. Working where a customer can yell, complain, and ____ at you, without having the support of your employer.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

You cannot judge a person by their looks or belongings. Do unto others as your want to be treated. Kindness and patience will return the same to you. I am only a visitor on the earth for a short while.

What unique skills do you have?

I am a kind, honest, reliable, dependable, hard-working employee. I complete as much work as I can while at work. I do not have any family responsibilities and I want to begin enjoying the relaxing ocean breeze and lifestyle of Belize.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

I want to work in Belize. I have been discarded after giving my family, marriage, friends and daughters to the USA Pharmacy work standard. I deserve to relax and enjoy the rest of my life by doing what I love, helping people with my Pharmacy talents and skills.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Helping educate those who do not realize there is anything wrong. I have sent a child to the Emergency Room because he was wheezing and unable to get a breath. I asked a wife to call the doctor about her husband. The Doctor said to take him right then thinking it was a heart attack. I have taken the blood pressure of a woman who was close to having a stroke. These are 3 lives I have saved in the Retail setting.

I feel that making a difference in the life of others, stopping potential harm, and improving the quality of life are some of the greatest rewards I can receive.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I have worked without enough help, constantly ringing telephones that are not answered and no food during a 12 or 14 hour work day. I cannot continue this pace without physically harming myself. I respectfully ask that you consider hiring me. I will work in sales, telephone service, health, or any job you think I can help you with. I cannot find a job in the area I live. Living and even part-time work in Belize would be a dream come true for me.

When can you begin work:?

I am visiting Belize for 3-4 weeks in October-November 2011. I will need to return to USA and complete selling or renting my home. I will also have some income from the USA, but I want a job to provide for myself without undue worry. Also by working, I can visit the country sites and select the area I would like to call my home.
