Teaching English as a foreign language for adultsWhat type of job are you looking for? I'm looking for a job in teaching English as a foreign language either to adults or children. What nationality are you? I'm French from New Caledonia, PAcific. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I'm completely bilingual in both French and English...I speak a bit of Hindi and understand Spanish...but I learn fast, languages are not an issue. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I'm basically looking for anywhere in Belize...not a big country so I'm not fussy about which places I would like to go and live. Belize is close to a lot of Latino countries but it's very peaceful with an interesting mix of people...it's a strategic place for me to travel to different countries in South America during my free time...and learn Spanish. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in South Pacific, Tahiti (French POlynesia) for more than 3 years, I am currently working in Rajasthan, in India and I have worked in Paris. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I'm not sure that I fully understand the sense of the phrase but through my French passport, I can have a work visa for a lot of countries. What field do you currently work in? I work in private school and in a hotel in Rajasthan, India, more specifically in Ranthambore where they have a National Park of tigers. In the school, I work with children from different ages starting from 6 until 14 years...reading and listening skills and courses on wildlife. What fields have you worked in before? I've worked in different fields ranging from companies in finance, marketing, exhibition set-ups for luxury companies, restaurants and hotels (food and beverages),teaching English (private lessons) to adults in Tahiti. Sells manager in shops. What qualifications do you hold? I have a University degree, Licence in English Literature and Civilisation. A two year course in Art History at Aix-en-Provence University. CELTA, is a CAmbridge certificate for teaching English as a foreign language to adults. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I don't consider one more than the other, both are needed so that one can see and analyse situations, tackle obstacles and work in a grounded and solid manner. From formal education, experience is what give more weight to the theory learnt in education...so both go hand in hand and complement each other in any field. Describe the benefits of working with others Getting things done as a team and tackling obstacle with different man power and ideas...enriches the experience and gets things moving faster, if there's coherance in the team and respect. Describe the benefits of working alone Well, if communication is difficult in a team, then getting certain things dne alone will be quicker and focused. Sometimes working alone helps to focus on a project or a task. What was your worst working experience? Working in the suburbs of Paris as a hostess and selling mobile phones in the worst and most dangerous places in the Parisian suburbs(when passing my University degrees.)...I survived though. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? There are many lessons that I've learnt through my different jobs....listening to others, what are their needs and what they want...how to speak to others either in a team, to get tasks done so that everyone's happy, do deal with problems inside a group and dealing with it...being very calm...and listening a lot...learn to observe a lot. What unique skills do you have? Rather difficult to sell yourself like that and depict a unique skill...I would say that from my atypical life that I've had...born in the Pacific, grew up in Tahiti around indigenous people, then grew up in Yemen, the Middle East and did most of my schooling in India, graduated in Singapore...traveled a lot, worked in charity organizations...So I have a capacity to talk to many different people, adapt to many different situations, countries, places, events...can intergrate quickly...love different cultures and people....so I have an easy contact in total respect of the people I'm with. I can see which person would be the best in a certain field and be happy doing it....I guess there are others but it's better if it's face to face, so one can judge from the encounter. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working and creating differents areas of work associated with traditional indigenous culture, to preserve, keep the authenticity and the ways without being spoilt by modernism...working directly with indigenous people and workig with western countries...as a cultural exchange.... What are the most interesting aspects of your field? People....children, adults from different countries....learning and having that direct vhuman contact What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Paperwork, administration...(sometimes) Please replace this with a question of your own I'm sorry but I don't have any questions....maybe the phrasing is a bit strange!
