Senior Desktop Support Technician

Salary: probably within $50k-$80k

The Engineer will be responsible for delivering quality customer service to internal users by providing them with a single point of contact to report problems and make inquiries. You'll respond to issues raised from the local office and liase with the various tech resources within the bank to manage the resolution. You'll conduct 1st level problem determination and troubleshooting with the user, using documented procedures and available tools. Working with senior IS staff members, you'll record problem information and keep them updated as to status. You'll be responsible for ensuring that thorough 1st-level problem determination is executed, resolving as many issues as possible with a team goal of 70%-80% immediate resolution. You'll insure proper escalation of problems as necessary. This role will work closely with the business and be responsive to any technology requests.

Qualifications:

3 - 5 years work experience in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting problems with day-to-day operating environments and customer applications. Experience using troubleshooting tools and procedures

Strong dedication to quality Customer Service and a working knowledge of enterprise-wide service-delivery procedures

Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills. Strong telephone etiquette skills and an ability to deal effectively with customers at all levels, peers, vendors, and management

Good initiative and assertiveness

Knowledge of the following Technologies:

1) Desktop Software Applications

Windows XP Professional

Windows Server 2003

Active Directory

DNS, DHCP, TCPIP

Microsoft Office Suites (2002, 2003)

Citrix

SSL

2) Hardware

Various Dell Workstations

Various HP Workstations

HP Proliant Servers

Dell Power Edge Servers

HP Printers

Additionally some basic project management skills are a plus, Application support background a plus, and any exposure to MS SQL Server and/or support of MS Access based applications a plus.

I am interested in this position and I possess 5 years experience in a network and desktop support role as well as a 2 year diploma in Information Systems Technology. I have a number of IT related certifications to my name as well.

I am a zimbabwean aged 28 year and has worked in the I.T department for a time spanning more thatn 3 year .I have worked for Scottwilson as a I.T technician , Ministry of lands as a systems administrator and currently ia am working for the Zimbabwe open university as a senior computer technician
