I'm hoping to work in Bermuda. Preferably a change of environment and to explore the opportunities of teaching in a foreign land.

What countries have you worked in?

I have only worked in Guyana, South America.

Also I have just completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education through the University of the Southern Caribbean (Formerly CUC) located in Tinidad and Tobago, South America.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

As an Educator I regard both fields as being valuable. Formal education and skills compliment each other. In other words, one must possess both with regards to how the economy is flowing.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others gives you an opportunity to hear differing views on a related issue and working together to come to a common agreement that would remedy a situation. As well as fostering social skills with individuals from all walks of life and learning of various ways to teach a concept.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone puts you in a position to develop your strengths, make critical decisions and it also helps you to manage yourself.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst experience with regards to my professional career was working in an insanitary and unconducive environment that does not aid the teacher or the pupils. Although I would have spent my personal cash to make the classroom conducive the other facilities of the school was not good for any child or teacher to be around. I'm talking about dysfunctional washrooms, no water to drink, broken water pipes, leaking roofs, etc.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

The most important lesson I have learnt as an Educator is that you have do research to be up to date with modern methods/strategies, technology, so as to cater for each learner within your care since each of them learn differently at at varying paces. Also I have learnt that if something is not understood it is ok to ask questions especially to senior teachers with more experience.

What unique skills do you have?

My unique skills that i possess are fluency, cookery and gardening.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job is being an Elementary Educator where I can mould young minds an influence them in a positive way via personal example.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspects of my field is Reading academics which is the gateway to knowledge and once a child can master this he/she will never know boredom. Also sports and other extra curricular activities.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The least interesting aspects of my field is notes writing. Here in Guyana the focus or emphasis is placed to heavily on the teacher's lesson plan rather than the actual lesson to be taught. Which can make any teacher get bored easily. I am not saying that the lesson plan is not important but what has to be taught to our pupils is of uttmost importance.

Why do you love your job?

I love my job because it keeps me up to date with our modern world. I have learnt that anything that you need to retain or know you must teach.

How can potential employers contact you?

Potential employers can contact me via telephone No. (home)592-266-3089 (cell)592-683-1027 (work)592-266-2725
