Business Dev, Training n Dev, Ops n Infra, Expansion What type of job are you looking for? There are multiple areas that I am confident of fitting in, thus I am looking for a job in any of these categories: 1. Having spent nearly 10 years in Training n Dev, and another few in Area Management, I can handle Mgt Profile relating to overall market building of a Product or Service. 2. I am a footloose, i love to travel. I have trekked across many Himalayan trails and one chief reason i am applying for a job in Bhutan is because i like cool climes. My strong point is i have an extremely keen sense of understanding and appreciating local customs - i pick up little nuances about the local culture faster than a lot of people. So, given a chance, an ideal profile for me would also be a position of a liason, in charge of promoting Bhutan tourism to the rest of the world. 3. The best for the Last... I am a writer by passion. I have written articles in Times Of India (n have got paid actually!), I have written travelogs for a Sikkimese based Magazine called New Horizons - and i have also written a book, that is being put up for publishion this year. My chief interest is International Relations, changing scenario in World Politics, the emergence of New Soft/Hard powers in the block, and the turmoil in Middle East. So i can be an asset in any Govt Dept, that deals in Data Analysis or deals in enhancing International Relations with the rest of the world. What nationality are you? Indian What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English - International Hindi - Fluent Bengali - Mother Tongue What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Bhutan. I have had a brief foreign exposure - I have worked in UAE. the chief reason why I want to work in Bhutan is I honestly believe in three things.... a) A decent lifestyle, b) Acceptable Behavior towards Nature and Ecosystem, and c) Overall growth and Dev for my second generation. To mind, Bhutan is the best place to be - closest to Home. What countries have you worked in? UAE, India What countries do you have a visa to work in? None... as of now. What field do you currently work in? Management What fields have you worked in before? Training and Development What qualifications do you hold? Science Graduate Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? A win-win combination of both goes a long way. Formal Education, completed properly empowers us to extend a set of acceptable practices and behavior, it helps building our attitude; and most importantly, it empowers with the right values - which is the base of Character Ethics. Skill sets become absolutely necessary to build on one's current profession - a tailor, or a salesman or a singer. if one doesnt have skills, one doesnt have a profession - crudely put. SO, to my mind, one needs to combine the two wisely n look forward to a fulfilling professional life. Describe the benefits of working with others One learns TEAM VALUE. Now there are several virtues that comprises Team Value. For eg, working with a team teaches one to be SELFLESS, where one puts team goal first. It teaches to SYNERGISE - to get higher, stronger n better yield. Teamwork teaches PATIENCE - because not everyone in a team has equal level of IQ, so that bit of understanding becomes necessary. Team teaches APPRECIATION OF FELLOW MEMBERS - the fact that they also are adults, with a point of view, that needs to be appreciated n counted in - something that is rarely taught in Mgt Colleges. In there, it is all about Self Performance. Describe the benefits of working alone It helps one to be INDEPENDENT. It helps one to be MENTALLY STRONG. It helps one to be TOTALLY ACCOUNTABLE. It helps one to be SELF STARTER. What was your worst working experience? Working is always fun.... because there is always an end result expected. yes, the results are not what one always expects, but then, thats life isnt it? So, every experience has been good so far, thanks to God. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that Personality Ethics are nowadays the focus of todays generation - Characer Ethics have taken a back seat. What unique skills do you have? I am a SiftSkill Trainer. I am a Public Speaker. I am an Effective Manager. I am a self proclaimed Traveller I am a Writer I am a keen Observer I have excellent People Skills What would you consider as your 'dream job'? A Diplomat, maybe? Given the fact that I have missed the bus, I would be happy indeed with a profile somewhere with the Govt, where I would be a part of a team that deals with International Relations - or maybe as a part of a Think Tank What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Training is an incredibly rich field. there are so many things that can be listed. However, Personal gratification would top the list. WHat i mean is, when someone approaches you n says that he/she is a changed being after attending my training. to my knowledge, it has happened many a times in my life. As far as Biz Building is concerned, the life changing aspect again plays an important role. but it is a more indirect aspect. It is like secondary to Developing a region for better revenues. but in that whole process, there are numerous people that get benefitted - from the junior colleagues to the small time businessman - both personally n financially. that is an interesting aspect of being in Biz Dev. About writing - it is a whole world of interesting aspects. especially the topics that i choose to write on are invariably about the current status of deprivation - of nations, of societies n of nature. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I like what i do... whether it is writing columns, preparing my book, working as a trainer, or developing my territory as a manager. so it is difficult at first chance. but i guess the only thing that puts me off at times are those small moments of frustrations when things dont go as planned. but that is a part of life. so no regrets.
