looking for a job starting next yearWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job whereby I am not boxed in. I grew up a fascinated by the bounds of the human mind which is part of the reason I chose bcom: entrepreneurship as my field of study. I would like a job that allows me to exploit my innate creativity for both myself and the company What nationality are you? I speak zulu and ndebele fairly well then afrikaans at a simple conversational level. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking to work in Gaborone, Botswana because that is where my family is and I would like to work in an area nearby them What countries have you worked in? I have been a business consultant in South Africa What field do you currently work in? I work in the small micro medium enterprise field focussing on business start-up, growth and failed venture turn around Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider my formal education to be more valuable plainly because one need formal education to be able to use their skills to their full potential. Some people are born with talent and some are not but that does not mean the one born with a gift will always be better, it depends on how well they can use their skill to full effect and formal education gives that edge Describe the benefits of working with others There are a lot of benefits, in the sense that, to work with customers you will have to have good "people" skills and so working with others is the only way to get those skills Describe the benefits of working alone The benefits of working alone are the responsibility it puts on you. I like responsibility and the more I have of it over something, the more efficiently it would run because there is only one point of reference What was your worst working experience? It was having to work with a team of people that were not as driven and underperformed and so we missed a deadline What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt that dedication breeds success. Whatever yo put into a project, you will get back ten fold, maybe not there and then but sometime in the future What unique skills do you have? Creative thinking, ability to speak seven languages and determination, even though some may not see it as a skill, too many people lack it and it can be learnt What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is not too far off what I am doing now. Even tho entrepreneurship covers both, I would like to move a bit more into investment and risk management with time. I would like to work in a company that encourages relationship building with employees, other companies and the community What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The challenge is always interesting. But the biggest challenge is turning around a firm on the decline. No situations are the same so to me it is a constant learning environment What are the least interesting aspects of your field? I really find my field interesting and have a hard time trying to find something that poses no interest or none to me why should we hire you? I am currently studying entrepreneurship in the second best university in Africa according to 2011 ratings, The University of Pretoria. I have high adaptability, that is how I learnt the other five official South African languages in three years.
