I am a Senior Examiner of Deeds in the Deeds Registry. What fields have you worked in before? I started as an Examiner of Deeds in January 2008. What qualifications do you hold? Diploma in Law (Private Law). I also did short courses in Basic Deeds Controllers'course, Basic Sectional Titles Course and Advanced Deeds Controllers' course. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? They are both equally valuable. Formal education because one is in a position to read and research effectively as well as making sound reports supported by sources of research. With skills one may go an extra mile to improve his performance and come up with good initiatives. One is also in a position to take calculable risks for the achievement of his work. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others promotes teamwork and shared responsibility. A team is able to share ideas, count their experiences, achievements and losses. It is also good to learn from each other's experience and mistakes. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone makes one realize his skills because he is able to take reasonable and calculable risks without anyone questioning the decision he takes. Working alone,he is able to brainstorm, analyze and determine the value and quality of his work. One also has the benefit of being multi-skilled. What was your worst working experience? Having to correct the misguidance of a colleague who doesn't take the responsibility of misleading the client. Well, the client can hear and understand what you are explaining but he will still be an unhappy client. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? A client needs love and patience to smile and appreciate your service. The other thing is that law doesn't protect a certain individual or group but it is made to protect the interests of all people. Therefore, seriousness of purpose and hardwork in everything you do are keys to one's prosperity. What unique skills do you have? Negotiation skills,problem solving skills,interpretation of statutes and team spirit. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Being a corporate Lawyer and self-employment at the age of 40. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? It is client-oriented and therefore,iteraction with people of different cultures,origins and religions will always be interesting. Learning different types of laws and jurisdictions is also interesting. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Dealing with an already hurt client who takes out stress from one office to another is not nice but giving such a client love and hope will definitely lift up their spirits.
