Maintenance planning activities in the fixed plant (gold Plant) - Ensure that preparation and execution of maintenance engineering and equipment condition monitoring plans and activities is completed in a timely and cost effective manner and with minimal disruptions to the mining and ore processing activities - Deliver a quality maintenance technical services to all customers within the mine and mill and ensuring that quality, cost and timeliness goals of maintenance engineering and equipment condition monitoring activities are met i.e. sending of oil samples, review of the lab results, report writing to reflect problems identified in the lab results - Participate in equipment redesign or modification and upgrades as required, for the plant, equipment and buildings across all areas of operation through the site engineering change management process. - Be involved with maintenance department capital projects programme, in conjunction with Maintenance S/Intendent from both Mine and Mill maintenance - Participate in the maintenance activities and projects Continuous Improvement process as required. - In conjunction with maintenance planners, capture and manage the integrity of equipment specifications, condition monitoring history and costing, including the update of any engineering changes in the design drawing - Design and provide all engineering and technical drawings to allow fabrication and construction of proposed projects - Carrying out Plant Maintenance and Supervision of daily scheduled and unscheduled jobs - RESPONSIBILITIES PLACER DOME MINE TANZANIA (2005) - Carry over daily maintenance activities under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor on fixed plant equipments i.e. Jaw crusher, cone crushers, mills, CIL, Kiln, Pumps, Cyclones, Knelson concentrator etc. - Cary over PM tasks in the fixed plant maintenance under the supervision of the fixed plant supervisor - Daily report writing - Cyclone general operation and maintenance analysis and the final report writing at the end of the internship. RESPONSIBILITIES VEGITABLE OIL COMPANY (VOIL) MWANZA (2004) - Carry annual plant shutdown maintenance of all oil plant equipments i.e. boiler, mills, etc - Technical report writing at the end of the internship OBJECTIVES; 1. To help carry out effective maintenance and all other engineering related activities to enhance adequate plant engineering availability. 2. To help bring maintenance staff to high maintenance performance standards and the effectiveness of Time Management with regards to maintenance activities. 3. Minimize plant downtime by enhancing preventive maintenance instead of breakdown maintenance 4. Provide engineering skills and knowledge to ensure safety and skilled maintenance activities are practiced 5. To ensure all upgrade and modifications performed in the plant to improve plant performance are performed at a high level of skills to achieve the intended purpose. 6. Ensuring critical and important spares are maintained to minimize plant downtime and production loss. 8.
