What was your worst working experience?
When my boss screamed at me in the presence of a large group of students for coming late without wanting to find out what had made me come late.
What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?
I have learnt that; 1. communication is one of the best tools in the office 2. Team work lightens the burden of workload 3. Confidence in what you do
What unique skills do you have?
Having worked in a maintenance department, i am able to do things like changin locks, fitting a flourescent bulb, identifying genuin products be it electical, building, refrigeration and plumbing products.
What would you consider as your 'dream job'?
To be a personal assistant to the president of a nation
What are the most interesting aspects of your field?
Preparation of meetings; during this events i am exposed to the basics of marketing when it comes to buying an choosing the right refreshments, products or services to use. Secretarial exposes one to a challenging world from different angles.
Wjat are the least interesting aspects of your field?
When people who are not knowledgeable about my field express theri ignorance and think that a secretary is nothing.
What major conference have you attended?
I attended and was a member of the organising committee that hosted HEFMA (Higher Education Facility Management) (7days)conference for universities and colleges in southern africa, australia, newzealand etc at the Zambezi Sun Hotels in Livingstone, Zambia in October,2005. I was the only secretary on that committee and some of my duties invovled booking of hotels and lodges for various delegates, meeting the delegates at the airports and arranging transportation to and from the airport. organising lunches, dinner and entertainment.
