I'm an unemployed BSc (statistics) & Diploma In statistics

What type of job are you looking for?

Analytical research jobs in relation to statistics.

What nationality are you?

I am a Motswana by birth.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak setswana & english fluently.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Anywhere in Botswana and my aim is to ensure that the nation develops through insights of research, that is taking decisions based from research results and that goes hand in hand with democracy anyway. Where anyone is not restricted from expressing his/her views.

What countries have you worked in?

I worked only in Botswana though not permanent.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

None yet.

What field do you currently work in?

None yet.

What fields have you worked in before?

I worked as a research assistant and data entry clerk.

What qualifications do you hold?

I do hold BSc(statistics) & Diploma In statistics.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider skills as more valuable because from my point of view, one cannot be more productive in anything that he/she is doing if he/she lacks skills.

Describe the benefits of working with others

1. When other members rely on each other to get the job done, team productivity and efficiency are high.

2. It encourages multi-disciplinary work where teams cut across organizational divides.

3. When team members perform better as a group than alone, collective performance exceeds individual performance.

4. A member can be encouraged by other team members to do his or her best, and collective results can improve.

Describe the benefits of working alone

1. There is no need to explain or consult as explainations and consultations take time. One can manage time better when he/she works alone.

2. When you work alone, you have to solve your assignment by yourself and you cannot rely on anybody. It gives many experiences and also the confident to make your decisions in the future.

3. Working alone helps one to be forced to do a task, unlike when one member relies on other members and they become reluctant, bringing unproductive results in the workplace.

What was your worst working experience?

I have never experieced a worst working experiece yet.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Teamwork can help achieve goals easier. Do not undermine other peoples opinions. Accept other people's mistakes and settle the problem as early as possible.

What unique skills do you have?

SPSS skills, Eviews skills, Analytical skills and SAS skills.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

I would like to work as a Statistician.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

I am very much interested in research work, data analysis and moreover the interpretation of the results for decision making purposes.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I really don't have anything that i am not interested in as far as my field is concerned.

Please replace this with a question of your own

Some of the companies might have not conducted a research about a company itself. That is, they do not have enough information about the past, present and future productivity. So do you think a research can do a great benefit by bringing results to your department/organisation or company?

How can potential employers contact you?
