I am looking to work in St.Thomas or Tortola, because I heard that there is experience to gain from working in those countries. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in Barbados. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have an American visa and I allowed to work in the Caribbean. What field do you currently work in? I am currently working on an orthopedic ward in Barbados. What fields have you worked in before? I worked in the operating theater as a floor nurse in my country (St Vincent). What qualifications do you hold? I have a certificate in nursing and I am registered Nurse Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider formal education because you are in a class room with a teacher where concepts can be explain if not answered and an input from other pupils can be very valuable. Describe the benefits of working with others The benefit of working with others is that you can learn from them things that you may not have known and others can also learn from you. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone can help the individual to gain confidence in the area of work that they do. It will also help them to think critically what must be done and make wise decisions What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience was as a newly trained nurse, my patient was unresponsive and I was scared because I did not have the knowledge on how to resuscitate a patient and was not sure what to do other than to inform my senior nurse and take the vital signs this made feel incompetent. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learned that you are never too wise and educated to ask questions if you are not sure and that a question is never stupid or foolish and you can never be too sure. What unique skills do you have? I have a certificate in Basic life support. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is being a nurse anesthetist. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspects of my field is medication administration. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The least interesting aspects of my field is smelling Do you love your job and name two areas of your job you like the most? Yes! I love my job I like ICU and operating theater.
