What type of job are you looking for?

I an seeking a job as a mathematics teacher in a secondary school. My exposure in the field for the four years has will prove benifitial to your institution as I learn more about your culture and varied teaching stratigies.

What nationality are you?

I am a Jamaican

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

My official language is English and I speak and write it competently.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I would love to work in any caribbean country but specifically the British Virgin Island or Cayman Island. Being a Jamaican, I have heard about the high level of the education system and the beauty of the environs, enhanced by the rich culture in these neighbouring island. As such I am confident that the exposure will serve to build me as an individual both professionally and personally.

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in Jamaica.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

Presently I am only entitled to work in Jamaica.

What field do you currently work in?

I am a mathematics teacher at a High School.

What fields have you worked in before?

I have served as a Laboratory technician in a chemistry lab and as a teacher.

What qualifications do you hold?

I have a BSc majoring in Chemistry and minoring in Mathematics. I also have a a Post Grad Diploma in Education.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both are of equal importance. A wholistic education shoud always be encouraged. The ombinatin of a formal education and a skills will prove instrumental enabling an individual to perform both the managerial and physical aspect in their area of competence.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working in a team is crucial to the growth and development of an institution. Ideas can be shared as individuals learn from each other providing support and constructive critism which is vital for both personal and professional growth.

Describe the benefits of working alone

In working alone an individual is forced to complete given task on their own and as such will strive to accomplish their goal, some of which they would have left for others to complete. This can serve to build the confidence of an individual as they will have to rely on intrinsic motivation to meet their objectives. in addition, the individual will be more willing to work on areas of weakness as they will have no one else to delegate responsibilities to.

What was your worst working experience?

Working in a Chemistry lab with individuals in managerial positions who who did not respect the opinion of others and refused to take sugguestions from fellow co-workers was an terrible experience.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

The most important lesson is that there are times when things wont work out the way you planned. However you must never quit, try a different approach and prepare for the unexpected.

What unique skills do you have?

I am able to motivate individual to accomplish task they think impossible. I am very creative and am able to come up with relevant ideas on the spot that will help to clarify misunderstanding. This is especially crucial when it comes to teaching a group of students with mixed ability.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

My dream job is working in a school with teachers who are supportive of each other and teaching students who are enthusiastic to learn.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The most interesting aspects in my field is watching a student grow realizing that learning has taken place because of the change in behaviour. Being able to find new and creative ideas ideas to teach a topic is also very exciting.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Finding parents who do not support their children and students who have no interest in learning can prove to be make the lesson less interesting.

What is your greatest weakest ?

I do not always meet given deadlines if I think the report or task is not done to the best of my ability. I however try to meet all deadlines and produce work of good quality.
