Applying for Computer Technician

I am interested in applying for the Computer

Technician position. I learned about this position

through JobStreet.com.

I am a success-driven individual. From a poor barrio

boy of Siquijor, Siquijor and Cebu, I struggled hard

to get to what I have become now. I was thirteen when

I started making a living to support my education. My

parents were separated and had their own family. My

other relatives were not so willing to send me to

college or at least high-school, so l was left alone

to look for myself. That’s why when I had the chance

to come to Manila I did my best to get to the land of

opportunity.

I was not mistaken afterall, because with my hunger

for self-improvement and self-betterment coupled with

my hardwork and determination to succeed despite

facing the various odds along the way, I was able to

acquire my education in computer technology and

electronics while working as busboy, aquarium boy,

waiter, cook, etc.

My experience as computer technician includes my

training at Sofil Sign Company as graphic artist cum

computer technician. Through this internship, I have

learned to apply skills acquired in my computer

technology and systems management classes to business

applications. I was also an on-call technician at

Alloutte Foundation of the Philippines and Medicins

Sans Frontieres-Switzerland in their computer labs.

From July 1998 up to the present, I am the Computer

Technician of Pedro E. Diaz High School, Alabang on a

retainer basis (service maintenance for 3 weekdays a

month). Aside from the technical knowledge I have

acquired with these experiences, they have helped me

gain knowledge and improve my human relations skills.

My education includes a technical course in Computer

Technology and Systems Management from International

Education for Technology Institute (March 1998).

To put it in a nutshell, success defines who you are

at present not what you were several years ago. A

successful man continues to strive for excellence and

self-improvement. My desire to become part of the SM

family would give me an opportunity to further enhance

my skills and knowledge.
