Registered Nurse wants to work in BruneiWhat type of job are you looking for? I want to work as a registered nurse, preferably in supervisory position. I also consider working as a clinical instructor for student nurses. What nationality are you? I am a Filipino. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English fluently. I can also speak a little Chinese- Mandarin and Fukien What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I want to work in Brunei because I heard from a friend that the working condition there is good and that workers are given the perquisites due them. What countries have you worked in? I have only worked and is still working in my nativeland, the Philippines. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have not applied for a visa to any country yet. What field do you currently work in? currently, I am working as a clinical instructor to level 3 and level 4 student nurses. I supervise their training in hospitals. What fields have you worked in before? Aside from the nursing profession, I have also worked as a mathematics teacher. I have taught arithmetic for intermediate pupils, algebra for high school,algebra and statistics for college. What qualifications do you hold? I am a graduate of both Bachelor of Science in Teaching Mathematics and Bachelor of Science in Nursing. I have also finished my Master in Nursing. I have worked as a teacher( classroom and clinical area combined )for more than two decades. I love working with students so I use positive reinforcement in parting my knowledge to them, I make them love what they do. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both are valuable for me. Skills should have a basis which can be gained primarily in formal education. Formal education on the other hand, without skillful practice tend to become idle. So one need the other to maximize/ optimize a person's potential Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others make you enhance your social skills. It makes you realize that you have so much to give yet at the same time make you also realize that you have so much to gain from others. Describe the benefits of working alone There are times that working alone is better than working with others especially if the task to be done needs concentration and that the skills and knowledge needed must come from yourself alone. Working alone posts the least number of distractions What was your worst working experience? There were times that I did not feel good about my workplace and my co-workers but I could not consider them as that bad, so much so "worst". I consider a little opposition healthy as it makes the experience more challenging and more meaningful. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? There are several lessons that I have learned throughout my career but the most important that I may consider is to accept accountability if you are at fault and be a better person. What unique skills do you have? Aside from the usual skills expected of a prudent nurse, I can sat that I have a very good communication skills; i love to interact with people and I can make them at ease. I can give health teachings without imposing too much. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I have not concocted in my mind a "dream job". For as long as the job is connected to my profession and that I have the necessary skills to perform it, I believe I would be very happy to have that job. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspect of my field is being able to meet and work with interesting people from all walks of life. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? The least interesting and most frustrating aspect in my field is not being able to alter the terminal conditions of patients assigned to our care. The best that i could do is give them comfort and alleviate their anxieties and depressions. What can make you stay long in your job? Aside from good pay and be given the due benefits of my job, I would like to work in a company with superiors who trust my capability as a person and as a worker. High self-esteem is very important in one's work and it can sure make a person stay long in a company. Being near my family is another factor that can make me stay long in my job.
