Internship Programme for Electrical Power Engineering Student for 12 weeks

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for internship programme or industrial training programme related to Electrical Power Engineering, offer by any company in Brunei Darussalam. The internship programme is required to be at least 12 weeks which can be started off in mid of November to February 2011, following the academic planning.

What nationality are you?

I am a Malaysian from Miri, Sarawak.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

Three Languages: (1) English - 8/10 (2) Bahasa Melayu - 8/10 (3) Chinese - 8/10

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking for industrial training programme in Brunei Darussalam. I am interested in working in Brunei Darussalam because I have grown up and studied in Brunei Darussalam. I pursued my education until Form 5 in Chung Hwa Middle School, BSB. Furthermore, I have family in Brunei Darussalam which I think Brunei Darussalam is the best choice for me to look for industrial training programme.

What field do you currently work in?

I am a third year student, currently pursuing Electrical Power Engineering in Curtin University.

What qualifications do you hold?

I am currently pursuing Bachelor of Electrical Power Engineering (3rd year, 2nd semester) in Curtin University.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

In my opinion, skills is more important than formal education because skills can only be learned through hand-on activities which the chances of having hand-on activities are quite little and valuable. As for formal education, it is just to explain the theory behind and allow the people to understand a certain situation. In engineering works, skills would be more valuable because without good skills, a lot of works cannot be done and does not know how it can be done in the correct way, even with formal education. However, having formal education and skills at the same time would produce a perfect engineer.

Describe the benefits of working with others

We can learn from one another and also exchange the ideas with other people which is very good because everyone has different ideas and views and thus, by listening and thinking using the ideas we obtain from others, we can see things differently and probably, able to improve ourselves in many ways.

How can potential employers contact you?
