I am a Ugandan What languages do you speak (and at what level)? 1. Arabic Language, I holt a Ph.D in it. 2. English, it is our official language in Uganda. 3. Kiswahili, it is one of our national languages What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I prefer Brunei, because I am sure my specialisation is wanted there. What countries have you worked in? 1. Malysia, when I was doing my Masters. 2. Nigeria, when I was doing my Ph.D 3. Uganda, where I am still working up to now. What countries do you have a visa to work in? All countries solong my services are needed there. What field do you currently work in? I am a Lecturer of Arabic Language in the Islamic University in Uganda. What fields have you worked in before? I was a secondary school Arabic teacher before joining university services. What qualifications do you hold? 1. BA Arabic Language (Islamic University - Madina). 2. MA in Teaching Arabic as a second language (International Islamic University Malaysia). 3. Ph.D Arabic Language (Usmanu Danfodiyo University - Nigeria) Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? To me I prefer formal education because it combines both experience and research. Describe the benefits of working with others 1. It give you a chance to interuct with others. 2. You exchange views with them about a variety of issues. 3. You come accross new experiences. Describe the benefits of working alone 1. You weaken your capacity of thinking and reasoning. 2. You miss a number of constructive ideas. 4. You develop a bad habit of living dull. What was your worst working experience? That was when I was a secondary school Arabic teacher, because the work was too much and the pay wass too litle to help me develop myself. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Is that teaching at any level makes you popular, because you train people who will take up key posts in the nation, but, you will remain poor. No one will one remember you or try to solve some of your financial problems. The moment they get appointed they forget you totally. What unique skills do you have? Is my long experience in Teaching Artabic to non Arabic speakers. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I wish to become an advisor in teaching Arabic language. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? exchanging views when I teach bright students. What are the least interesting aspects of your field?
