Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

50/50

A good formal education opens doors, but it's the ability(skills)to perform the mission that employers are looking for.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The benefits of working with others includes drawing on the experiences from others which brings together a stronger and more cohesive team. Simply, one person does not have all the answers. And when a problem arises, two heads are better then one in developing a solution. Teamwork also means relying on each other to perform on schedule.

Describe the benefits of working alone

The benefits of working alone usually includes not having to fight traffic nor go into the office on a daily basis. This concept is only as good as the support staff.

What was your worst working experience?

Marine Corps Officer Training. The worse the weather the more we were in it!

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Shut up and listen. Other people also have something important to say.

What unique skills do you have?

My unique skills include the use of MS Office software suite, writing skills, due diligence experience, knowledge of bank requirements, investment options and my ability to formulate a winning business plan and feasibility study for investors. In addition, I have studied blueprint reading and Project Management.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Using my abilities to work with real estate development companies looking to build substantial multi-level residential housing or commercial retail or office building projects.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Being in the field working with people; the travel; talking to banks; creating presentations for investors and working with clients to help them achieve their dreams. Finally, seeing the finished results of everyone's hard work!

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The large amount of time it takes transferring ideas to paper in a logical sequence and in good form. This means write, edit, rewrite, proof and then doing it all over again!

What makes this type of work important to you?

This work is extremely important to me because for every loan or grant secured through my efforts means at least tens or possibly hundreds of new jobs, real incomes and a better quality of life for everyone touched by the project.
