Looking for Employment in CaliforniaWhat type of job are you looking for? I have my HR Diploma in Human Resources Management and working as an HR Officer for a Manufacturing Company. I would say HR would be my preference. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I am currently residing in South Africa so I speak English and Afrikaans (not applicable in America) fluently. Trying a bit of French. What State are you looking to work in and why? In California I have been there on holiday and have blood relatives staying in Los Angeles because I visited the city and know what it has to offer I would love to work and live there. Secretarial IT Help Desk HR What qualifications do you hold? 3 year National Diploma in Human Resources Management Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both, Formal education is your basis to prepare you and equip you will the necessary knowledge and know how required to understand the process of a job and how everything fits together in an organisation. Skills is something you learn on the job or by attending training that is applicable to what you have studied and now it can be applied and what an asset one can be to any company should you have both. Describe the benefits of working with others The benefits of working within a team is that you would have more than one person's input working together to achieve a common goal, we all have different knowledge and skills and personal attributes. By utilising all these different in a team more ideas are generated. Dead lines and goals are met faster especially if we working on a big project that could of taken months to complete. Lastly it is amazing on the amount of camaradarie that is created within teams. Describe the benefits of working alone This would solely depend on your personality and the type of work being done. Working alone give more autonomy and power to decide and also enable acting according to one's judgement without any criticism. It helps you connect with yourself and assemble thoughts and ideas which are unique to you. What was your worst working experience? It would be at my previous company where I worked for an HR Director that did not like the HR Operationals Department very much and kept on saying that we were incompetent no matter how well we worked. He also made the working environment unpleasant to work in and this resulted in 7 employees of the HR Operational Department resigning and leaving the company all in the same month. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson for me would be that one should never under-estimate yourself and what you are capable of achieving. What unique skills do you have? I am a real people's person - people naturally trust and open up to me because I listen. I have excellent verbal and written communication skills I have excellent organisational and decision-making skills Excellent administration (filing) What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working for a large, stable and successful corporate company in the USA and gain the necessary knowledge and skill that would enable me to grow in my career path especially me being South African I have much to learn should I be fortunate to be recruited by an American based company. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Working with people - everyday is a challenge and everyday is different. (Assisting and guiding people who are less fortunate than you are). Interacting and communicating on different levels. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? When we need to dismiss an employee for misconduct.
