I would like to experience becoming a school principal in California by undergoing first a training so that I will get to know the culture of Americans in actual situations-classroom/school activities. I would like to be exposed to daily operations of schools in California, USA. When I become fitted for the job, I am willing to serve as a school leader who will take care of the children with the team of motivated teachers. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak english(intermediate level)though very much willing to get more advanced training. What State are you looking to work in and why? I would like to be employed in California because I want to live closely with my parents and younger siblings What field do you currently work in? I have been a school principal(preschool and elementary) for more than three years. What fields have you worked in before? I was a Values Education teacher in the University of Santo Tomas High School Manila, Philippines for more than nine years. I was given administrative assignments during my stay there and the highest position that was given to me was Department Coordinator- Values Education Dapartment for one school year.I also experienced becoming the Assistant Director for Academics at Children First School, Santiago City. What qualifications do you hold? I am a Master's Degree Holder(Master of Education)University of Western Australia(sponsored by UST), with Ph.D in Educational Leadersip units taken way back 2004.My Bachelor's degree is on Secondary Education major in Character Formation and School Guidance. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider Formal education more valuable but it will only be significant to a person when she applied what she learned in actual practice. Practical applications enhance many skills. As early as fifteen years old, I work while studying without being disqualified from the honor roll.In fact I receive honor higher in rank when I started working in school as student assistant. This practice continued to college and even when I took my Master in Education. I am also working as Assistant to the Director for Academics when I started taking units in Ph.D Educational Leadership(27 units taken). Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others makes everyone productive. there is greater efficiency and effectiveness when working with team. I experience this when I started helping Family Corporations in managing schools. I am very grateful to those I have worked with because at a very young age, I have learn to manage schools. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone is very effective and efficient particularly when you are on the stage where you review data gathered/verified and interpreted by the team.Working alone is effective for task which requires reflective and critical/creative thinking.It is the moment when you balance all the opinions, interpretations, evaluations, jugements etc. made with the others. What was your worst working experience? The worst working experience was when I can not speak my mind due to situations beyond my control and out of context due to some limitations. And I learned a lot from this, thaT'S WHY I dont stop studying/learning (formal or informal) What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? Any endeavor will only be significant to you and to others if you know how to strike the balance between personal life,professional life and social life. What unique skills do you have? The manner I practice reflective thinking which enable me to create something that will make a difference in the lives of many people. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is to become a school superintendent, an Educator in its truest essence; making a difference in the lives of many people. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Curriculum Innovations, Career pathing for teachers(Faculty Development)Effective Home and School Collaboration and School Accredited with Academic Excellence are just some of the interesting aspects in my field. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Urgent tasks such as unscheduled conference with parents who raises complaints(often times are just petty things. Some people magnify problems just to be given attention. How can you be happy and successful in life? I can be always happy by being grateful to all the blessings both pleasing/good and also those which at agiven moment is not most pleasing but has its own reason/purpose.This outlook will always lead you to success because everything that comes your way serve as an opportuniyt for better things to happen. So keep a healthy mind, body and soul so that you can always welcome opportunities that will make you happy and successful.
