I am a very dedicated, honest and hard worker and will do well in many areas if given the oppurtuntity. I would really prefer a job that will fuly utilze my many years of experience. What nationality are you? I am a Jamaican. Jamaica is blest with many talented individual who have excelled in many capacities. I am one of them. I can proudly say that I am quite talented. This is because I can play various musical instuments, sing, do construction work, barbering and pressing. I have been a manager for a Laundry for the past 3 years. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak Standard Jamaican English and also Jamaican creole. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am seeking a job oppurtunity in which ever country or area that would need my skills. However, I would prefer a job in either North or South America. This is because these are the counties I can most readily relate to because of trade and other linkages that Jamaica and the US have had over the years. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in Trinidad for three years while doing a theoloigical course there. What countries do you have a visa to work in? After my studies were completed in Trinidad, I did not reapply for a visa. I currently do not have a visa. What field do you currently work in? I am currently self employed, magaing a laundry I established at a Police Station three years ago. My primary duties are to monitor the ladies working in the wash room, purchace supplies, seek to fix and mantain the machines and I am one of the persons who presses the clothes, especiaaly the officers uniform. What fields have you worked in before? Being a very talented man I have done well as a labourer in the construction industry. I have also beig a barber for some time in my life. I also excelled in being a baker. This job taught me how to create some unique baked pastries. I am currently operating a laundry. What qualifications do you hold? I have a certificate in theology. However I prize myself for doing well in many other skilled areas, that I have worked. My abilities are not recorded in getting a lot of cerificates and degress. But the quality work that I can do is for you to experince. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Formal education is good and having a skill is also good.Both areas compliments each other. hovever if given a coice to choose, I would chose the skill area. Many persons who get formal education does not or cannot master the practical. I belive being able to do the job is most important Describe the benefits of working with others In college there were a lot of group projetc given this is because ythe lecturers recognise that it is not easy to work together. Working harmoniously together can get the job done faster. It can cut cost and helps to allieviate confusion and reduces stress. There is a saying in Jamaica that says "more hands Make work lighter". Describe the major benifit of working alone Working alone allows you to do your own thing without consulting others. What will you not put up with. I am totally against dis-honesty. I do not believe that anyone should try to short change their employers. If the renumeration is not adequate or if you are disatified with something it is better to quit, but while working do your best. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learnt to respect others in the work place. I have also learnt that each person has something positive in which they can contibute if given the oppurtunity. If a business is to flurish communication must be the key and also a cooperative attitude. What unique skills do you have? Music is my baby. I can sing, play the keyboard, bass and rythmn guitar. This I do for recreation. I have done well in house keeping especially in the laundry area. Barbering and baking are also areas that I have done well. Basic labourer work in construction is aslo my speciality. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job is a job that makes me feel happy. In the mornings I am enthused and ready for work. This type of job should offer good renumeration for good work done. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The interseting aspects of my field is bieng able to satisfy my costomers. Delivering the costomers work on time is also vital. Many nights we have to spend extra time to get work ready on time. I cannot afford being late with an officres uniform. What type of persons do you like working with. I like working with persons who work well with each other. They sholud not love to llaunt their authority, but must be humble. I love when my co-workers do their work to the best of their abilities without haveing someone watching them. How do you function with people who have different personal views from your own. The work place is a professional organisation. I do not care about peoples personal beliefs or doings. I also believe that workers should not bring their personal views, beliefs to the work place. How can potential employers contact you?
