What type of job are you looking for?

Receptionist/Customer Care.

English - Fluent Maasai - Fluent Kiswahili - Fluent Samburu - Fluent

What State are you looking to work in and why?

California - i have always loved California since i was a kid; to an extent that one of our goats has been named California since. All along i always suggest California when someone asks me which state/country i want to live.

What field do you currently work in?

Customer Care

What fields have you worked in before?

Secretarial/Clerical Duties

What qualifications do you hold?

Diploma in Public Relations Certificate in Business Management Certificate in Secretarial Duties

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills - Formal education may not guarantee expertise in any field. Being skillful is out of experience and can contribute much to any work that requires skills.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Teams are strong and motivates people. Working as a team brings about togetherness and keeping checks of each other thus, it enhances good performances.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone helps one to concentrate without interference.

What was your worst working experience?

Working in Northern Kenya as a secretary and there is no electricity or computers in the office. Every work was manual.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Focusing on what you have to do. Work in harmony with others. Meeting deadlines. Appreciate those around you.

What unique skills do you have?

Play musical instruments - keyboard, guitar

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

International Relations

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Meeting people, listen and help as much as i can makes me satisfied.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

90 percent of my time in office is talking to people. At times is tiresome.

Why I want to work in USA- California

i am a second in a family of nine. As a girl from the Maasai community in Kenya i face a lot of challenges including forced marriage and FGM (Female Genital Mutilation). i am at the moment helping to make sure that my young sisters and neighbours go to school at are not forced to anything that will stop them from schooling. Going abroad will make me prove to my community that a girl child can go beyond borders. I want to be a Role model to the girls in my community.
