Masters of Development Evaluation and Management: Subjects: Product Marketing/Value Chains and Micro financing

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills. Skill is acquired from experiences about what works and is more reliable than education which is basically theoretical with variances from one circumstance to another.

Describe the benefits of working with others

It builds ones personal capacity to accept the cultural difference inherent in others, makes someone flexible and also to learn and adopt new ways. It also help integrate various perspectives of things into a unique visioning.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Decision making and responsibility is optimal.

What was your worst working experience?

I designed a supposedly effective enterprise program in an organistion I worked for but the concept was parallel to the ideology of the director and it was therefore never supported and implemented. It can be frustrating when its becomes difficult to reconcile at conceptual level.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Be practical in your work and stay closed to reality by valuing and utilising the experience of local people, while thinking strategically.

What unique skills do you have?

Ability to analyse a development issue and strategy development

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Enterprise Development Projects officer

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

- Facilitating access to financial services and other business development services and capacity building of producers. - Project management: Monitoring/supervision and backstopping of enterprise development projects - Liaising with public and private sector to promote project activities
