What type of job are you looking for?

Licensed Automotive Mechanic

What nationality are you?

Canadian

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English highest level Willing to learn any language

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Cayman Island because I live in Canada it is very cold! Tools stick to your fingers, nostrils stick together when you breath in -30C. Working in 3 feet of snow makes me a good mechanic however working in a warm climate makes me a happy mechanic.

What countries have you worked in?

Ontario Canada

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I presently do not have a visa but would obtain one as soon as possible.

What field do you currently work in?

Licensed Automotive Mechanic in the largerst dealership in Ontario.

What fields have you worked in before?

Licensed Mechanic, Millwright, Class B Refrigeration.

What qualifications do you hold?

Interprovincal Red Seal Service Technican License Class B Refrigeration Air Conditoning ODP Card Truck and Trailer Apprentice Truck and Trailer Tire Installer

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both you need theory to know why things work and a better understanding of proper procedures and how to adapt to todays technology. Skills because gives you the knowledge to do the job. You develop your skills through doing.

Describe the benefits of working with others

Team work is necessary because it is a good work environment. When you are stuck on a problem, you can talk to your team mates and get a different view.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone you are centered on the job with no other distractions. A difficult electrical job is easier to do when you can devot your whole attention.

What was your worst working experience?

Working on a garbage trucks and having maggots fall on me while I was working on it. Finished the job but had a long shower twice.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Team work is necessary at every job. Safety and patience is a skill learned not taught.

What unique skills do you have?

Air conditioning and front end work is a skill I have honed to be my expertise.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

NO SNOW. Warm all the time. I love what I do, I would love to love where I live.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

You never learn everything. With new vehicles you have different challenges. You have to keep up with your training. I enjoy a variety of cars and trucks.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Oil changes because they are not challeging. I do them but given the choice I would rather remove and rebuild an engine.
