Construction management positionWhat type of job are you looking for? I am seeking a management position in the construction industry What nationality are you? I would like to work in Grand Cayman as I visited the country recently and was very impressed with the level of construction projects which were underway on the island. What countries have you worked in? I have worked in the United States of America and in Jamaica. What countries do you have a visa to work in? The USA and Jamaica What field do you currently work in? At present, I work in the construction retail trade. What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in construction management both in Jamaica and the US managing large commercial and residential projects. Prior to this, I worked in Systems analysis at an international Computer development company. What qualifications do you hold? I hold Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Natural Sciences from the New York Institute of Technology and from the University of the West Indies. I also hold Certificates in Concrete Inspection from the Department of Transportaton. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both are important and the successful employee will have a combination of formal education and skills training. The critical factor, however, is the ability to apply skills in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Describe the benefits of working with others When there is team spirit, targets can be met and goals achieved on time and within budget. The ideal situation is to have the team functioning as a cohesive unit. Describe the benefits of working alone In cases where an employee is an independent contributor, concentration may be heightened. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? That one should treat colleagues with respect regardless of their status in the Organization What unique skills do you have? I possess excellent organizational,leadership and people skills. I communicate well with people at all levels of the Organization and earn respect both from subordinates and from senior management.
