Seeking employment

What type of job are you looking for?

I can work as a secretary, math teacher, computing job, fast food restaurant job or hotel job. I am a young professional who is willing and able to accomplish any task set before me.

What nationality are you?

I am a Jamaican

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak English fluently.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

The Cayman Islands because I always wanted to visit Cayman, to tour the small island. I have heard about it from family and friends; read and researched on it. Now I created a reason to go there and I know with the help of God I will reach there.

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in Jamaica only.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have visited family in the US but never really got a chance to work there. I have worked worked in Jamaica though.

What field do you currently work in?

I am currently a student of The Northern Caribbean University pursuing a degree in Computer and Information Science with a minor in Mathematics however I am not limited only to this field. I am not currently working.

What fields have you worked in before?

The have taught Mathematics before to primary school student younger than 13.

What qualifications do you hold?

I currently hold 7 CXC subjects, however I am a final year student of the Northern Caribbean University and will be receiving my Bachelors of Science Degree in Computer Information Science with a minor in Mathematics in August 2011; and is available to work anytime after that date.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I consider skills more valuable because it demonstrates if the formal education was sufficiently learned. Skills are what we really need to get the job done, however education plays a really large part also.

Describe the benefits of working with others

When working with others one would not get bored easily as there is always someone to communicate thoughts with, one can building relationships, networks and links.One can also get another interpretation of the task at hand.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Better able to concentrate, lack of distractions, better able to make informed decisions without facing criticism, and one can better connect with himself/herself through deep thoughts are some of the many advantages of working alone.

What was your worst working experience?

My worst working experience was on my birthday about 2 years ago. A couple of my working employees surprisingly through a bag of flour and broke a couple eggs on me. They were playing but I was a bit embarrassed especially having to take the bus home that day.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Never give up on your dreams, hard work brings success and failure is not an option. Most importantly I can all things through Christ who strengthens me.

What unique skills do you have?

I am excellent at mathematics.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

To work in the Actuarial Science field is and has always been my dream job.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Being able to solve problems especially those that the untrained mind cannot solve.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

The least interesting aspects of my field is that i have to pass a number of exams to be a registered actuary. To be exact nine(9) exams.

what is your greatest attribute? what philosophy are you driven by?

I am an honest, hardworking, self motivated and diligent. My greatest attribute is never absent, never late and always willing to work hard.I am driven by the philosophy in Romans 8:28 " and we know that all things work together for good to them that love God."
