Seeking a job in Grand caymanWhat type of job are you looking for? I am looking for a job as a guidance counsellor or teacher. What nationality are you? I am a Jamaican. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? I speak English an I speak it very well. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I would like to work in Grand Cayman because that is where my family lives. What countries have you worked in? I have not worked in any country as yet because I am a recent graduate. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I do not have any work visa but i do have traveling visas for the US, Canada and also Cayman. What field do you currently work in? I am currently unemployed. What fields have you worked in before? I have not worked in any fields however I have worked volunterily to provide counselling to young boys at a Boys Home in Jamaica. What qualifications do you hold? I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology wit a minor in Mass Communication. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I really think both are very inportant as one provides the thoery that is needed to understand what you will later practice and one actually provides the experience needed to perform a job. When employers make requests they normaly ask for qualifications as well as experience. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others helps an individual to learn things such as how to exert patience, how to work with a team and how to supervise others. It also helps individuals to learn from other people's experience. Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone helps an individual to learn how to work with limited or no supervision and also how to take the initiative. What was your worst working experience? I do not have one. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have not established my career as yet but I do know that in my career field our first priority is to help our clients. What unique skills do you have? I am a good listener and I practice to tell people the truth and not what they want to hear. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be one that is fulfilling in that I look forward to going each day and I can make a positive impact on the lives of others. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Psychology is a stepping ladder to whatever field a person wants to work in. Psychology helps an individual to have a better understanding of the way people think and behave and why they they do it. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Some of the theories are not really practical and I do not agree with them. How can potential employers contact you?
