I have been working 30 years in Turkish leather market (in domestic lamb&sheepskins double face/napa tannery as leather technician&international chemical group as leather technician &international lamb&sheep skins supplier as sales manager) from raw skins (inspection&buying and selling from U.K&Spain&Irealand&France&Italy&USA&Australia&N.Zealand)to finished department and therefore I supposed that I am credential leatherman for industry. What nationality are you? Turkish What languages do you speak (and at what level)? Fluent English for leather industry and international leather market. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? China because world leather production have moved to China and other Asian countries also mainly. What countries have you worked in? Only Istanbul,Turkey. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I do not have any visa to work in any country but I have been visiting different countries from Spain to Australia&N.Zealand&USA for improve our technical knowledge for working process in tannery and experience about lamb&sheepskins business since 1984 What field do you currently work in? I have been worked as leather technician in domestic tannery (1979-1989)and international chemical group from 1989 till 1992 and I have been still working as advisor& lamb&sheep skins and cattle hides sales technician from raw to finished till present days. What fields have you worked in before? 1979-1992 as leather technician in domestic tannery & international chemical group 1992-2009 as advisor&sales technician in leather supply to tanneries What qualifications do you hold? Domestic and international technician&sales man Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I have high school education and international leather courses in Spain.I have still many useful contact in the world leather market from tanneries to skin&hide suppliers. Describe the benefits of working with others I have been still giving and taking all information about world leather from/to my colleagues and tanneries in Turkey and all over the world. Describe the benefits of working alone I am highly self motivated and researcher. What was your worst working experience? I have supposed that none country have been competition to Turkish leather market even China also. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? As being a part of each teamwork is most important during production in tannery from wet-end to finished and of course get in touch with many people in different countries during business trip for buying skins&hide or selling something else. What unique skills do you have? researcher,self motivated ,patient What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Shortly I am leather man and I love very much to struggle from production to marketing What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Finished goods from shoes to bag and garment to belt What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Unfortunately nobody knows (clients) how many days we need in production for ready to wear of all kind of leather goods and what kind quality skins&hides how and where form obtained and inspection of quality to tanneries.
