Jayanth (201.236.251.85) -

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for Business Development jobs that involve Marketing, Writing Proposals, Client Relationship Management, Vendor Management, Account Management, Logistics and traveling.

What nationality are you?

I am Indian. I can work in India and Colombia.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

English - Native Tamil - Native Hindi - Native Spanish - Beginners Level

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking to work in Colombia, perhaps in Bogota or Medellin. I am married to a Colombian and have relocated to Colombia recently. I selected these cities as they are more cosmopolitan cities with more opportunities.

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in the UK and in India.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

India (as I am an Indian Citizen)and Colombia (I have the Resident Visa). I also hold a valid American Visa (B1/B2) for Business and Tourist Travel.

What field do you currently work in?

I work in the Business Development Field.

What fields have you worked in before?

Management, Business Development, Vendor Management, Client Management, Marketing and Logistics.

What qualifications do you hold?

MSc International Business with Finance - England, UK Diploma in Business Administration - Wales, UK Bachelor of Engineering (Electronics & Communications) - India

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

I beleive a formal education, aided with suitable skills and experience is a very valuable mix. This is because a formal education provides a person with the modern techniques and lessons of past experiences of organizations, that would take a longer time to acquire through experience. It saves a lot of time in learning through mistakes. At the same time, one without proper experience and only education would also fail, as life is a much different ball-game than classroom sessions.

Describe the benefits of working with others

It is good to listen to different points of view before taking a vital decision. There is always a way to do a job better - one just has to find it out. Working with others provides that opportunity. Working with others is also crucial as it has to be in tandem, like the example of the F1 Pitstop Anatomy, where the mechanics and crew members complete the entire work on the F1 car includinh oil change, tire change, engine tune, etc, within 6 seconds.

Describe the benefits of working alone

Working alone has very little benefits as even a writer, who writes a book lonely, needs a critic to improve on his work.

What was your worst working experience?

Working with people with extremely close minds who do not want to budge from their age-old strategies to adopt new, fast-paced, bold moves.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

Always listen to the person you are in conversation with, whether it be your client, vendor, boss or colleague. You can reciprocate what you hear to your advantage, whether it involves closing a deal, negotiating or reasoning.

What unique skills do you have?

Having worked in different environments, I beleive I have a unique skill to identify a way to approach any person to successfully build on a relationship, whether it be you client, vendor, colleague etc. I also possess a unique skill to negotiate with any person to obtain the best deal for my organization.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Meeting clients, traveling internationally, learning continuously, interacting with people and solving strategic/ marketing problems.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The thrill that I experience every time I close a contract with a client or a successful negotiation with a vendor are the interesting aspects in my field.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

Sometimes when there are too many red tapes that dont let you do your job it becomes uninteresting. This is because, at these times, given the freedom, people can achieve wonders. Another uninteresting fact in my field is when others try to take the commendation for another one's hard work.

How can potential employers contact you?

They can contact me on my email. My id is: jayanth.subramanian@gmail.com
