Certified Private Trainer/ Group inst & RNwhat kind of job are you looking for? Wellness/health or medical. I am an RN w/ ER/and plastic surgery exp. I also hold certifications as a private trainer, and group exercise (zumba, hula hoop, core, circuit, bootcamps) I teach stand up paddle and surfing as well. What nationality are you? my family are from creole heritage so Im a mixing of french/creole from Louisiana What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English What country or area are you looking to work in and why? Costa Rica, I am a advocate for whales and all ocean life, I want to work in an environment that is eco friendly, loves and respects its oceans and has a vast variety of different types of wildlife. What countries have you worked in? only in america What field do you currently work in? I am a private trainer, and teach group exercise, i do nursing as well for things like facial injectables, and cosmetics What fields have you worked in before? I have worked in fitness since 1981 teaching childrens gymnastics, boxing, and many types of fitness programs i have my own business and have cont to do this since then. I also have a degree as an RN and focused on wellness and longevity. I worked many years in ER and have done float to endo, med/surg, tele, psych, cd..and many out pt surgery What qualifications do you hold? Im certified by ISSA as a trainer, hold certs in zumba, aerobics, and hula hoop, I have boxed and taught both cardio and reg boxing,kickboxing,powerlifting, bodybuilding, surfing, sup, children to sr adult fitness with the bonus of being an RN Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I think both are important but i think life skills have the greater benifit. You can read and study all you want but if you can put it to application then its use is not that great. Describe the benefits of working with others well since both my areas i work in help aid in well health i think that total well being is the goal of what i do, mind body heart type of thing, learning to live life as an everyday adventure. Describe the benefits of working alone I work as my own boss now so i get to make decisions about how and when and with who i work with, which is nice in the aspects i can make time for the things i feel like are important, like being w my pets and surfing. What was your worst working experience? i think you can turn around most situations with being kind, open and willing, but there are some people whom just cant and wont be pleased so i think sometimes its better to agree to disagree and respect the other person opinions but realize sometimes you just dont have the capacity to please them. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? its never too late and there is some sort of fun fitness thing for everyone, teaching hula hoop for seniors has shown me that some things no matter your age... are just plain fun. What unique skills do you have? I have a variety of fitness skills but i think what draws most people in is i have a unusual look and im open and silly and fun, but i have alot of knowledge so its a good combo What would you consider as your 'dream job'? working someplace that i could work with clients for wellness and fitness and have the beach as a backdrop, that way i can teach fitness which i love and help share the stoke of the ocean with those who want to learn to love it to. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? how it can help someone love the skin they are in. fitness is not a punishment..its something wonderful we do for ourselves..its a treat!! What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Well i guess its still interesting but having to make new routines may not be very interesting to some folks, but like any job having the right tools make it a wonderful thing Why should you be hired I am dedicated and honest and like to work as a team. I am willing to learn, but also bring a vast level of expertise to my job. I love to help and take care of so the fitness and wellness industry is a perfect fit.
