Looking for a Job in ZagrebWhat can you bring to a job in Zagreb I am seasoned manager. I have been working in accounting for over 20 years. I love to mentor. Not only would I be able to perform accounting tasks but I am a great trainer and teacher. What nationality are you? American What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English, fluently. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am looking for a job in Zagreb. My husband is Croatian and we are looking to spend the rest of our lives in Croatia. What countries have you worked in? United States of America What field do you currently work in? I currently work in Accounting/Finance What qualifications do you hold? I have a bachelor's degree as well as a Masters degree. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? Both are equally important. Although it is important to have a formal education as it gives a wide range of topics in a given field, what you learn on the job is the real nitty gritty of work. A book can explain debits and credits, but until you see them at work in a real world situations, you can not grasp what they really mean. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others allows you to get a different perspective on things. I have one set of experiences and that is all I know. By working and listening to others, I find out things that I never would have thought of on my own because I did not have those experiences. Describe the benefits of working alone When you work alone, you often can get more accomplished. If there is a problem or task, it is up to you to make the decision on what route to take to solve the problem. You do not need to have a consensus. What was your worst working experience? A manager who did not understand how to get the work accomplished but wanted to control everything. I am a self starter and need to be able to just get the work done on my own. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson I have learned is that there is alot of things I don't know. I have to be open to others suggestions as they just may have a better idea than me! What unique skills do you have? As I worked for an organization that did their accounting WITHOUT the aide of computers, I know EXACTLY how the process works behind the scenes. I understand how the sub ledgers relate to the other ledgers in the system. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? My dream job would be to find a job in Zagreb in accounting. Living in Croatia would allow me to travel more easily through Europe and see all those sites I have dreamed of seeing during my life. |
