Looking for Permanent Work in Croatia

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking to work in the administrative or a tourism field. It's a broad description, but I have five years experience within the business management field. I would also love to work in a traveling environment as I am the type of person that enjoys to travel and meet new people.

What nationality are you?

I am Croatian.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I speak fluent English and Croatian.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

I am looking to return to my homeland (Croatia) to pursue a further career because it is the best place in the world!

What countries have you worked in?

I have worked in the United States for the past six years.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

I have a Croatian and an American citizenship.

What field do you currently work in? And what are your job functions?

I work in the administration/banking field currently, where I deal with many multi-million-dollar companies and their CEOs. My main job functions is dealing with USA and foreign currencies. I transfer large amouns of money (usually within six-figures and within millions) to our corporate customers. I also deal with foreign trade, and converting currencies (ex: from dollars to zlotys to pesos to euros). I represent my firm (PNC Bank), and it is essential for me to create strong and everlasting relationships with our clients.

What fields have you worked in before?

Mostly business management, but I also have a great interest in history and literature, both of which I pursue on my free time.

What qualifications do you hold?

With a strong business background, I hold excellent communication skills, strong computer skills, interpesonal skills, and with my experience in clerical and administration background, I also hold an Associate degree for Business Management.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Both. Education is wonderful to get you started and give you ideas on how a field runs, but skills are valuable beyond anything!

Describe the benefits of working with others

Working with others gives a person an opportunity to learn about other people and how people function. It is an opportunity to gain insight on people's ideas and not to mention to create lasting relationships within a working environment. As I always say, two or more brains are better than one!

Describe the benefits of working alone

I have to admit, I enjoy workig with a group as well as alone because when I am alone, it gives me a chance to concentrate deep on a current project that I am working on. I value other people's opinions, but it is crucial to learn to trust myself and to sometimes lean on my own decisions when no one else is around.

What was your worst working experience?

Working at a company that had little to no customer interest and only cared about making money. It was disheartening to see because my goal was to actually HELP the clients.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

That creating good and strong relationships not only with your customers for who you work for, but also with the people you work with and surround yourself with eight hours a day! The better the co-workers get along, the better off the company will be as well as the customers!

What unique skills do you have?

I am a super fast typer, and I have a strong interest in computers. I also love history and I educate myself on past events as much as possible. I have previously published some of my literary work. In addition to that, I have written several books that are in the process of being analyzed for future publication.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

Working with good people is the most important thing! However, I want to work perhaps in a museum, an art gallery, or in an airport (traveling) atmosphere, or perhaps a thriving company where there is a lot going on and where I can surround myself with people.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

Since I am in the banking field, it is interesting to learn about all the different clients we receive throughout the day. It is challenging and rewarding at the same time to be able to solve a client's problem, whether it's money-related or anything more intangible.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

I don't get out enough! I wish my field required more traveling!

How would your co-workers and your bosses describe you?

I work extra hard. I constantly try and improve whatever I am doing because I am determined to do my 110% percent. I have a funny sense of humor, so I know how to have fun and relieve tension in a hard situation. I always look for solutions even when it is not my problem because I love to help my co-workers if they have a question or are unsure on what to do. I have also built a strong relationship with my previous employers and I know they will agree with this statement!

How can potential employers contact you?

Potential employers can easily contact me via my email address, which is zeljana403@yahoo.com. I will be more than happy to supply them with my official resume! Since I am currently in America, it will be harder to reach me through my phone number. However, I will enclose my home phone here as well just in case: 412-714-4920.
