i am seeking a position as a restaurant/bar manager or server position.

What nationality are you?

i am a canadian citizen. my father is scottish and my mother is irish.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

i speak top level english and i am in the process of learning spanish.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

puerto plata, dominican republic is where i would prefer, and why, because i was just there on a vacation and absolutely loved it and i feel puerto plata needs me....

What countries have you worked in?

i have worked in canada only.

What countries do you have a visa to work in?

no country as of yet, do i have a visa to work in.

What field do you currently work in?

i am in the restaurant/bar manager and server field.

What fields have you worked in before?

i operated my own take out pizza business for 4 years and drove school bus for 7 years. i also operated and worked on the family tobacco farm for 10 years.

What qualifications do you hold?

i have 20 years restaurant experience. i usually worked more than one job at a time.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

my answer would be, skills, due to you can have all the formal education in the world and still not have a skill. it's the skill that's going to get you a job and keep that job.

Describe the benefits of working with others

i am a people person. i currently head a staff of 15-20 servers. being honest and fair can still get the job done as opposed to hard-nosed and unfair. i am well liked by my co-workers and am treated with sincere respect.

Describe the benefits of working alone

working alone too has it's benefits. sometimes being alone, you may get more accomplished due to no interruptions and being able to concentrate fully.

What was your worst working experience?

i really have not had any bad experiences. i have enjoyed every job i have every had.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

the most important lesson i have learned is to treat people with respect. treat people as you would want them to treat you. be kind, giving and honest. this is not really a lesson i have learned...it is the way i am but i know alot of others should take this advise. it would get them further in life and make them a happier person. you are what you reflect.

What unique skills do you have?

it may not be unique but i possess a driver's license. i have a bus drivers license and i also have my air brakes license. my greatest skill is making people feel good about themselves in an honest way. i always look for the good in everyone. i give credit when credit is due and my criticism is constructive. i am helpful and patient and easy to talk to.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

right now, my dream job is to manage a hotel/restaurant/bar somewhere in puerto plata. i love my job i have right now, but i want to venture out. i feel it is time for me to move on and go to where i really want to go. puerto plata is calling my name. i swear i heard it.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

what is most interesting about my field is that i love my customers and my staff. i have a wonderful relationship with both sides. i always lend an ear to my customers. the staff and i have fun at work and get the job done at the same time. the customers see that and it makes them more relaxed and apt to have a good experience and more apt to return.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

the least interesting about my field is when i have a day off. i enjoy going to work. the staff and customers are like my family. i would rather be at work than at home.

Please replace this with a question of your own (my question is below)

i guess my question would be "where to and when would you like me to send my resume for reviewing?" or "when would you like me to start?" just thought i'd add a little humour......

How can potential employers contact you?

contact me by telephone 1-519-785-0534 (home) cell phone 1-519-318-6656 or by e-mail "dryfarms@aol.com" looking forward to hearing from you..............thanks, alanna
