Job availablityWhat type of job are you looking for? I am a registered Nurse with experience in Critical Care, School Nursing Cardiac Nursing and Clinic Nursing. I am seeking a job in the San Pedro area. What nationality are you? I am American. What languages do you speak (and at what level)? English Conversational Spanish and improving every day with usage. What country or area are you looking to work in and why? I am interested in the San Pedro area or Bavaro area. I have a friend who lives in San Pedro. What countries have you worked in? I have worked as a RN in United States since 1981. What countries do you have a visa to work in? I have no foreign Visas as yet What field do you currently work in? I am self employed in retail presently What fields have you worked in before? Nursing with Hospital, School and Clinic experience, Corrections officer for 2 years as summer help, Retail-Presently Chairman of the Board for a Health Food co-operative and I own and operate my own retail wine making shop. What qualifications do you hold? New York State Registered Nurses license. FCC license Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? I consider skills more valuable. Many people can read a book and pass a test with excellent grades but few can effectively perform without actual work experience. I have both Formal Education and Formal Skills training because I was educated at a Diploma Nursing School with a great deal of hands on experience and classroom education. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with other gives me a sense of peace that I can effectively function and benefit other with my years of experience and life knowledge Describe the benefits of working alone Working alone can benefit many people who tend not to perform well in a large work atmosphere. I do like to work alone at times but I also like the activity and sense of accomplishment of working with others. What was your worst working experience? I worked at a very small hospital with many nice people but they were not comfortable with me having more extensive work experience than they did. They could be a bit cold to me at times if I shared to much knowledge with them. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? I have learn that everyone has a unique identity that may not be evident on the surface but with time most people are truly good deep down inside. What unique skills do you have? I can fly an airplane, make wine and obedience train animals. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? I would like to volunteer as an RN a few months a year in The Dominican Republic. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? Watching patients heal physically and mentally. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? Paperwork. Why do you feel you are suited to work in the Dominican Republic? I have visited the Dominican Republic twice and I have found the Dominican very intriguing and spiritual. I would like to help these very special people in some way and watch them prosper.
