Jessica R. Rizzo

Looking for Administrative work in the D.R.

What type of job are you looking for?

I am looking for a job in the Administrative field. I have many years experience working with various computer systems, I have great customer service skills, and Executive Assistant skills.

What nationality are you?

I am American.

What languages do you speak (and at what level)?

I am fluent in english, learning spanish.

What country or area are you looking to work in and why?

Santo Domingo, D.R. My husband is from Santo Domingo and his mother and family live there. We are in the process of getting our stuff together to move our family to the Dominican Republic. With three children, I would much rather have a job in line!

What countries have you worked in?

U.S.A.

What fields have you worked in before?

Administrative Assistant, Account Manager, Customer Service, Receptionist.

What qualifications do you hold?

I am a hard worker and a fast learner. I am excellent on the computer, with the ability to type 65+ w.p.m. I have a clear telephone speaking voice and am able to deal with customers with whatever temperment they may be in at the moment. I am friendly and upbeat and always ready to learn something new. You will be able to depend on me to be there when needed.

Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why?

Skills. I believe that you can only be taught something to an extent, but it's when you get in the field, and do the work, that you actually learn all the ins and outs of the trade.

Describe the benefits of working with others

The benefit of working with others is the fact that your able to bounce idea's off of one another, when needed. It is true that "two heads are better than one" a lot of the time, so the ability to discuss something you may be working on with a co-worker is always good. I also believe that is good to have a good work relationship with the people you work with. You spend the majority of your time with these people, its important to be able to get along.

Describe the benefits of working alone

In my case, I get things done rather quickly. When I am working on things that I don't need support for, I get into and I get it done. There is no time used in discussion, its get in and get it done.

What was your worst working experience?

I don't do well when there is a lot of "office drama", so I would say that my worst work experience was working in a company where everyone talked down about everyone. People were about doing for themselves regardless of what effect might be for someone else.

What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career?

No matter what I know about something, there is always something more to learn!

What unique skills do you have?

I am extremely personable and pick up new jobs very quickly. I am always looking to help someone else, if I am done with my task I will do just that, look to assist someone else with their work.

What would you consider as your 'dream job'?

A position that kept me busy throughout my day, one where I had the ability to interact with people, assist people, in an atmosphere that was friendly and laid back.

What are the most interesting aspects of your field?

The fact that things have the ability to always be changing. I can be doing one thing today and something different tomorrow.

What are the least interesting aspects of your field?

At times it does tend to get slow, and currently, the fact that I am sitting most of the day.

Why should you hire me?

Because I am a hard worker and a fast learner. I am always looking to learn something new and will do any task to the best of my ability. I am reliable and actually enjoy what I do. Although I may not know everything that the job requires at this time, I will learn it quickly and perform it well.
