I am looking to work in the Dominican Republic. I have visited before and fell in love with the country and its people What countries have you worked in? Canada What countries do you have a visa to work in? Just my home country of Canada What field do you currently work in? I am currently working in car sales. What fields have you worked in before? I was an ESL teacher for ten years before my current occupation. I have also been a volunteer probation and parole officer. Before that I was a bartender as I worked my way through university. What qualifications do you hold? I currently have my Ba in psychology and criminology from the university of Toronto. I have my TESL certificate from my days as a teacher. I also have my OMVIC lisence which is required to sell cars in my province of Ontario. Which do you consider more valuable? Formal education or skills and why? While both are important, education is useless in the workforce if you haven't developed the skills needed in the real world. Describe the benefits of working with others Working with others allows you to see different perspectives other than that of your own which helps you to learn and grow. Describe the benefits of working alone The benefits of working alone is that it allows you to be self-relient and free from distractions. What was your worst working experience? My worst working experience would be when I was working as a probation and parole officer and seeing my clients not taking the help that was offered to them, thus seeing them repeating the same mistakes they have made in the past. What is the most important lesson you have learnt throughout your career? The most important lesson I have learned throughout my carrers would be that we are all the same and we all need eachother to help in our pursuit of fulfillment, be it finacially or personally. What unique skills do you have? My most uniquie skill would be the ability to see things from other peoples perspective. This allows me to truly understand the clients needs and therefore adapt my approach to help them achieve them. What would you consider as your 'dream job'? Working for a company that would give me the opportunity to utilize my strengths and where I have the responsibility and the accountability for using my skills to achieve great results, work along side with great people and get a fair reward. What are the most interesting aspects of your field? The most interesting aspect of my field would definetly meeting pople from all walks of life. What are the least interesting aspects of your field? This one is easy. The paperwork involved in selling a car. How do you like to be managed? I'm generally adaptable to most management styles. In the past I've helped my bosses get the best out of me by talking with them and developing a good understanding and relationship with them.
